Experience : With an experience of 15 20 years out of which 5 years in Academic Administration / leadership position in a Private University

Job Purpose:

The Dean Academics (Engineering) will provide strategic and academic leadership across all engineering disciplines, ensuring excellence in curriculum design, teachinglearning processes, research, innovation, and academic governance. The role emphasizes academic quality, faculty development, student success, research growth, and compliance with national accreditation and regulatory frameworks, preferably within a private university environment.

Job Description (JD):

1. Academic Leadership & Strategy:

• Provide strategic leadership for engineering programs aligned with the Universitys mission.
• Drive academic innovation through emerging technologies and interdisciplinary approaches.
• Lead the development of industry- and society-relevant programs and specializations.

2. Curriculum & Pedagogy:

• Oversee curriculum design, revision, and benchmarking across engineering disciplines.
• Promote outcome-based, experiential, and multidisciplinary learning practices.
• Ensure strong industry integration through projects, internships, and modern pedagogy.

3. Faculty & Talent Management:

• Lead faculty recruitment, mentoring, and career development.
• Foster a culture of research, innovation, and continuous development.
• Oversee faculty performance and leadership development as per regulatory norms.

4. Student Success & Academic Excellence:

• Promote a student-centric culture of academic excellence.
• Monitor student progression, retention, and performance.
• Strengthen mentorship, placements, and research exposure.

5. Research, Innovation & Consultancy:

• Drive research, innovation, publications, and patents.
• Facilitate interdisciplinary and industry-sponsored research.
• Promote consultancy and national/international collaborations.

6. Quality Assurance & Regulatory Compliance:

• Ensure compliance with all regulatory and accreditation bodies.
• Lead accreditation, audits, and quality initiatives.
• Oversee academic documentation and statutory reporting.

7. Stakeholder Engagement & Outreach:

• Serve as the academic liaison with industry, alumni, and academic partners.
• Chair academic councils, advisory boards, and curriculum committees.
• Represent the University in academic, industry, and accreditation forums.

Required Qualifications & Experience:

• Ph.D. in Engineering from reputed Institution, Ph. D in Computer Science Engineering preferred, all other engineering disciplines are welcome.
• Minimum 15 years of teaching and/or research experience in a reputed higher education institution.
• At least 5 years of experience in academic leadership or administrative roles such as Dean, Associate Dean, Head of Department, or Director, ideally within a private university setup.
• Strong research credentials with publications in reputed journals and conferences.
• Demonstrated experience in curriculum development, accreditation processes, and industry engagement.
