Data Management - Business Analyst

Role Summary & Role Description:

Chief Data Office (CDO) - Global Technology Solutions at State Street has a mandate to govern and report on data health across the enterprise. CDO is rolling out multiple initiatives and operating model changes to execute these initiatives and generate value for our internal and external clients.

We are looking for qualified candidates with experience primarily focused on Master  Data Management use cases, while delivering source data analysis and storyboards to various stakeholders

Work you’ll do:

• Work closely with Business Analysts to understand the requirements and perform data profiling, analysis and recommendation for next steps.
• Work with various stakeholder groups on Master Data Management use cases like source data processing, data analysis, incident analysis.
• Sample/export data from multiple source systems on different technical platforms(via SQL queries)
• Develop user stories, business and data procedures, source to target mappings, DQ rules and related documentation for the data products being developed.
• Proactively collaborate with Business stakeholder, IT/data engineering team members, business users and implementation team along the project lifecycle, understanding the impacts that may have on downstream use cases.

Core/Must have skills

• Data Analysis and profiling from various internal and external data sources
• Experience in Data Transformation requirements from variety of sources
• Data querying / SQL experience for sample data collections and analysis
• Hands on experience with Python programming for data processing
• Hands on experience with PowerBI or Tableau visualization tools
• Agile SDLC processes for manage and deliver requirements across sprints and releases
• Experience in translating business requirement to user stories for development
• Working knowledge on Jira or similar tools
• Excellent communication, articulation and stakeholder management skills

Good to have

• Good to have Visio or other design tools to prepare flow diagrams.
• Analyze a variety of data sources/formats, document required transformations and controls on the data elements to be fit for analytical data lake house
• Define and govern data modeling and design standards, tools, best practices, and related development for enterprise data models.
• Exposure to Databricks / AWS project experience / ETL tools / projects
