About the Team and the Role

The Data Office team at Ather is responsible for evolving an analytics, ML, and AI ready data lake to support key initiatives and our explosive growth.

This role is for a visionary engineer designing the blueprint for Ather's entire data ecosystem. You will be responsible for designing and enforcing best practices for data governance, quality, and processing pipelines, ensuring your work empowers intelligent, data-driven decisions that shape the future of electric mobility.

Responsibilities

• Evolve an analytics, ML, and AI ready data lake to support key initiatives and explosive growth.

• Design and enforce best practices for data governance, data quality, and metadata management.

• Design complex data processing pipelines to optimally process data from multiple sources.

• Stay up to date on new technologies and strategically maintain Ather’s data stack.

• Work closely with data engineers, scientists, and product managers to accelerate progress through data.

• Understand business needs to articulate complex architectural concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders.

• Solve complex technical challenges by diving deep into code and infrastructure.

• Design for long-term scale and complexity while building impactful systems from the ground up.

Experience and Qualifications

• 10-15 years of proven experience in data engineering, data modeling, and data architecture roles.

Must Have Competencies

• Extensive hands-on experience designing and implementing large-scale data platforms like Data Lakes and Warehouses.

• Deep practical expertise with the Databricks Lakehouse Platform and Apache Spark.

• Strong SQL skills and a deep understanding of relational and non-relational databases.

• Significant experience building and managing data solutions on major cloud platforms, preferably GCP.

Good to have Competencies

• Expertise with using data from various enterprise tools such as SAP, Salesforce, and Jira.

• Proven experience with high-performance columnar databases like ClickHouse.

• Proficiency in Pyspark for data engineering tasks.

• Familiarity with telemetry data.
