A Guardium engineer is responsible for ensuring the security and monitoring of database activities using IBM\\'s Guardium platform. Here are some key responsibilities and tasks typically associated with this role:\\r\\n1. Installation and Configuration: This includes installing and configuring Guardium appliances, GIM/STAP agents on databases, and ensuring proper setup for both on-premises and cloud environments\\r\\n2. Automation and Integration: Automating the installation of GIM and reporting to Guardium for new database servers, as well as integrating Guardium vulnerabilities with ServiceNow for automated ticket creation and assignment\\r\\n3. Monitoring and Reporting: Monitoring database activities, identifying vulnerabilities, and ensuring timely remediation. This involves setting up alerts and reports for various database activities and vulnerabilities\\r\\n4. Performance Optimization: Ensuring the Guardium environment is optimized for performance, including configuring unit utilization reports and monitoring inspection-core performance\\r\\n5. Collaboration: Working closely with DBAs, sysadmins, and other teams to ensure smooth operation and integration of Guardium with other systems and processes\\r\\n6. Compliance and Security: Ensuring compliance with security policies and standards, and implementing measures to protect sensitive data and prevent information leaks\\r\\n7. • Depending on the work environment, the subject matter expert may lead or be an active participant of a work-group with the need for specialized knowledge.
• Meet all agreed-upon turnaround times for deliverables, deliverable reviews, or deliverable sign-off
• Understands, articulates and implements best practices related to his area of expertise.
• Provides guidance on how his area of capability can resolve an organizational need and actively participates in all phases of the solution life cycle. Design Solutions and best practices to meet clients objective.
• Work with clients to identify business challenges and contribute to client deliverables by refining, analyzing, and structuring relevant data
