Clinical Planning

Purpose of the Position

• To bridge hospital operational requirements with the architectural and design team, ensuring clinical and nonclinical workflows are efficient, safe, and aligned with best practices. Responsible for operational inputs during design stages, including volume forecasting, area space programming, workflow mapping, and department sizing.

Roles & Responsibilities

• - Provide operational inputs during Concept, Schematic, and Detail Design stages.
• - Validate clinical adjacencies, patient flows, staff flows, and material movement.
• - Develop and update Area Space Programme (ASP) for all hospital departments.
• - Create patient volume projections, service demand estimates, bed ratios, OT/ICU ratios.
• - Interpret architectural and MEPF drawings and ensure functional accuracy.
• - Liaise with architects, MEPF consultants, equipment planners, and operations teams.
• - Develop workflow charts, functional narratives, and departmental requirement briefs.
• - Review layouts, RLS, RIS, equipment layouts, and DD documentation.
• - Support mockup reviews, design validation, and operational readiness.

• - Strong understanding of hospital operations across clinical & nonclinical areas.
• - Ability to interpret architectural and engineering drawings.
• - Expertise in volume forecasting, bed planning, and capacity modelling.
• - Strong analytical, documentation, and processmapping skills.
• - Excellent coordination, communication, and stakeholder management.

Essential Experience

• - 1015 years in Hospital Operations, Healthcare Consulting, or Clinical Planning.
• - Experience providing operational inputs for at least two hospital projects.
• - Knowledge of NABH, FGI, NBC, and functional planning standards.
• - Experience in workflow mapping, commissioning support, and departmental sizing.
