We are looking for following profile. This person will work with 7 others on the team.

The Global Preferential Origin Specialist is responsible for Origin and Preference determination and assist in analysing the customs data and overall management of the origin/ preference, solicitation from the global suppliers. The incumbent will need to work with various data structures and sources of it to analyze the parts information for identifying opportunities for duty savings and maximizing the visibility of the program. The role may require the incumbent to help with custom HTS classification duties.

This position reports to the Global Preferential Origin Manager and is part of the Global Trade Operations Team that sits within company's Supply Chain & Logistics Operations Organization and will be located in IND - Bangalore JFWTC - company's and will be an on-site role or working remotely to cover global regions (APAC, China, EMEA, USCAN).

What you will do:

Analyze the sales order reports and other data resources to identify and isolate opportunities to utilize FTA savings and then capitalize on your findings to reach out to the direct material suppliers for solicitation of preferential country of origin.

Access Oracle/SAP system to Parts master information, utilizing BOM and Cost Schedules and other information and other engineering systems to assist in identifying the form, fit, and function of products to arrive at accurate HTS classification and or Origin Preference determination.

Solicitation of identified Buy-in parts with parts supplier for the preferential CoO and to communicate and this workstream.

Research and assign a required classification to the company's relevant items, including raw materials, intermediate products, packaging, finished goods, and equipment.

Complete through an in-depth analysis, ultimately classifying and justifying categorizations of products according to government-provided regulations.

Review bills of material, technical materials, drawings, and other literature to ensure proper classifications are assigned; assigning classifications to parts on bills as required.

Responsible for the origin determination system maintenance (trackers and reports) and record-keeping supporting the organization's product for all relevant Free Trade Agreements, including price reviews, Preferential Origin Statement creation.

Coordinate with functional areas to monitor sourcing changes. Periodic review of standard cost fluctuation to determine adherence to rules of origins thresholds.

Facilitating all teams and company objectives for effective performance, including but not limited to the following:

Obtaining a thorough understanding of Customs laws concerned and regulations regarding product classification.

Reviewing all new items to assign a Harmonized Tariff Schedule number; if an accurate number cannot be provided, providing client contact with a questionnaire, indicating the item requires further research.

Communicating with internal clients and external suppliers on issues regarding detailed information on details of parts origin information and or classification assisting information.

Attending and actively participating in team meetings, client status meetings, and other meetings as required.

Acts as the FTA subject matter expert and co-work with day-to-day FTA operations and specialists. Coordinate with functional areas to monitor sourcing changes. Periodic review of standard cost fluctuation to determine adherence to rules of origins thresholds.

Who you are:

Minimum of 3-5 years of experience performing Global Trade matters (Import/Export, HTS classification, Customs Law and Regulations) is necessary condition.

Minimum of 1-2 years of experience performing Origin Preference determination using RVC and CTC methods is desirable.

Bachelor's degree in Engineering preferably in Electronics, Chemicals or Mechanical stream or equivalent.

Excellent analyzing computer skills including advanced Excel skills such as writing Macros and Power Query and or using Visual Basic program to extract information will be advantageous.

Additional qualification in International Trade, Customs classification process is preferable.

Exposure to Global countries' Harmonized Tariff Schedule is advantageous.

Advanced technical knowledge of Free Trade Agreements utilized in Global market, rules of origin, and method of determination.

Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a cross-functional, global team environment

Interpersonal communication skills, relationship management, and collaboration skills.

Excellent organizational skills.

Analytical/math and problem-solving skills.

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

Understanding rules and regulations involving WTO and WCO.

Running SQL queries to extract data and information that can be utilized to analyze further will be an added advantage.
