CISO & Executive Reporting and Metrics Analyst

As the CISO & Executive Metrics and Reporting Analyst, this role drives the maturity of Ciena’s security analytics and reporting landscape by delivering a unified, automated, and insight‑driven metrics program. The position influences executive decision‑making, supports regulatory and compliance readiness, and strengthens Ciena’s overall security posture.

How you will make an impact:

• Develop and refine a comprehensive security metrics and reporting framework aligned with NIST and ISO 27001
• Architect scalable reporting pipelines and standardized KPIs/KRIs across enterprise security functions
• Build automated ETL workflows and data pipelines using Python and SQL for unified telemetry aggregation
• Design real‑time and historical dashboards using Power BI, Tableau, and custom web‑based reporting
• Analyze large data sets to identify risks, trends, anomalies, and executive‑level insights
• Automate risk quantification, exposure analysis, and regulatory mappings to support governance and audits
• Collaborate across IT, security, and business teams to align metrics, data sources, workflows, and enhancements

The Must haves:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Cybersecurity, or related field
• 5+ years’ experience in cybersecurity analytics, metrics engineering, or data pipeline development
• Proficiency in Python development, SQL, and ETL orchestration for security telemetry pipelines
• Experience with Snowflake or cloud data warehouses and secure cloud data architectures
• Strong analytical skills, statistical understanding, and ability to communicate insights to leadership
• Experience integrating security tools using REST APIs and telemetry aggregation
• Dashboard and visualization experience using Power BI or Tableau

Nice to haves:

• CISSP, CISM, CRISC, or equivalent certifications
• Experience with governance, risk, and compliance workflows
• Familiarity with React or JavaScript for custom reporting applications
• Experience influencing cross‑functional stakeholders and contributing to strategic decision‑making
• Knowledge of emerging cybersecurity analytics and open‑source reporting tools
• Experience implementing CI/CD for analytics scripts and applications
• Strong interest in workflow automation using n8n, Airflow, or similar platforms
