About the Team and the Role:
The Circuits team at Ather is responsible for the design and development of core electronic hardware  that power our intelligent vehicles. It ensures Ather’s superior product positioning through cutting-edge technology , competitor benchmarking and platform reuse while adhering to strict QS standards and corporate values.

This role is for a Circuit Design Engineer who will work on analysis and design of circuits focusing on embedded systems involving microcontrollers, System on Chips, and other digital and analog peripherals.

Responsibilities:

• Design electronic systems and perform simulations like Tolerance Analysis and Monte Carlo to validate designs across operating conditions.

• Develop schematics using CAD tools such as Allegro, Eagle, or Orcad and collaborate with PCB engineers on layout development.

• Perform detailed design calculations to ensure completeness and accuracy of the designed circuits.

• Drive internal engineering requirements from high-level specifications and work with SW/FW teams to define system interactions.

• Lead Root Cause Analysis (RCA) using structured reasoning like Fishbone or 8D and implement CAPA for technical issues.

• Own DFMEA and participate in AFMEA and PFMEA while ensuring designs adhere to DFM and DFA principles.

• Manage hardware packaging boundaries in collaboration with the mechanical team and oversee embedded system testing methods.

• Support regulatory compliance testing for standards such as UL, ARAI, BIS, and IEC for all electrical assemblies.

• Participate in supplier discussions, benchmarking activities, and implement lessons learnt to enhance platform reuse and quality.
  
  

Experience and Qualifications:

• B.Tech/M.Tech with specialization in Electrical, Electronics, or Mechatronics Engineering.

• 3-6 years of experience in the design and development of embedded systems
  
  

Must Have Competencies: 

•  Expertise in electric circuit design and analysis involving passive elements, diodes, transistors and op-amps.

• Proficiency in Microcontroller and SoC architectures including registers, bus systems, PWM, DMA, and ADC/DAC.

• Advanced hardware and firmware debugging skills for troubleshooting embedded system boards.

• Competence in performing DFMEA and implementing DFM, DFA, and DFR principles during the design phase

Good to Have Competencies: 

• Experience with communication protocols such as RS232, RS485, SPI, UART, Ethernet, USB, and CAN.

• Knowledge of high speed design such as memory or camera interfaces.

• Knowledge of EMI/EMC compliance and safety standards like UL, VDE, IEC, or BIS.

• Familiarity with RF tuning, antenna theory, and wireless protocols including Wi-Fi and Bluetooth.

• Proficiency in simulation and design tools such as PSIM, MATLAB, Allegro, or Hyperlynx.
