CAD Technician – Civils (Highways)

We are seeking a highly skilled and experience CAD Technician Civils (Highways) to join our US-GCC T&I Team. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating and maintaining Roadways engineering drawings using Autodesk and Bentley software. Successful candidate will collaborate closely with our engineering and CAD/BIM teams to ensure that all designs and drawings meet industry standards and project requirements.

Responsibilities

• This role is for a CAD Technician Civil-Roads contribute to Civil Infrastructure projects, deliverables in compliance with WSP CAD standards.
• Responsible for Preparation of drawings including conceptual sketches and detailed construction drawings, using Autodesk Civil 3D or Bentley MicroStation
• Reviewing drawings to ensure compliance with Client drafting standards.
• Responsible for CAD tasks as directed by the Senior CAD and Engineers.
• Ensuring that quality procedures are implemented and maintained
• Provide regular work status updates, including risks or concerns, to line manager.
• Ensure that Health & Safety is embedded into all work practices in line with company policies.
• Develop expertise and stay up to date of developments in Drafting skills.
• Coordinate with a multi-disciplinary project team.
• Carry out audits of adherence to WSP Management and Quality processes and implement corrective measures where required
• Autodesk ACC or Bently ProjectWise experience would be an asset.
• Preference will be given to candidates with minimum 4 years of experience in a GCC/ Consulting firm using Autodesk Civil 3D software or Bentley MicroStation.
• Should have knowledge in Highway and Highways drainage (Transportation & Infrastructure).
• Proficiency in Bentley software, including Microstation and ORD.
• Proficiency in Autodesk software, such as AutoCAD and Civil 3D.
• Strong understanding of highway engineering principles and practices.
• Excellent knowledge of Plan, Profile, Sections, Road Furniture and Detail Drawings.
• Exceptional attention to details and accuracy.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
• Ensure that work produced adheres to specified WSP CAD standards and suggest revisions to standards as appropriate.
• Ensure that all new skills learned are documented and available for new team members.
• High degree of self-motivation and the ability to motivate others.
• Maintain strong colleague relationships and contribute to the teams performance of client satisfaction
• Explore ways to add value and improve personal and team performance
• Manage opportunities, risks, and project changes / variations so that these deliver advantage to the business
• Experience with projects of the USA would be an advantage

Mandatory Skills:

Experience with Autodesk software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Navisworks, , BIM 360 or Bentley MicroStation and ProjectWise.

Strong communication skills.

International projects experience

Desired Skills:

Proficient in 3D modelling, Civil 3D and Microstation.

Skills To Be Evaluated On:

Proficient in AutoCAD, Microstation, Highways detailing, Highway Drawing Production and Modelling

Qualifications

• Mandatory Qualification:
• Diploma in Civil Engineering with a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience.
• Qualification (If Other): B Tech. Civil
