Were looking for a Backend Lead Real-Time Messaging & VoIP to join our core engineering team and own the architecture, scalability, and reliability of the backend systems that power our real-time communication stack.



What Youll Do

Build ultra-reliable, low-latency backends for real-time calls, messaging, and media workflows at scale.


Own end-to-end backend architecture, technical roadmap, and production reliability of the communication stack.


Design and optimize real-time communication infrastructure using WebSockets, WebRTC, TURN/STUN, and media signaling protocols.


Design high-throughput event pipelines that power real-time signaling, analytics, and AI feature processing with minimal lag.


Architect distributed coordination and routing systems that maintain consistency and performance across regions.


Develop scalable platform primitives like RESTful APIs, identity, session management, rate limiting, and storage that serve as foundations for AI-powered applications.


Create end-to-end observability that keeps a multi-region communication platform predictable under heavy load.


Drive architecture reviews, technical decision-making, and backend engineering best practices.


Mentor backend engineers and contribute to building a strong, high-performing backend team.



What You Bring

8-12 years of hands-on backend engineering experience building and operating large-scale distributed systems.


Deep understanding of distributed systems fundamentals: consistency models, partitioning, replication, concurrency, and high availability.


Strong system design expertise with the ability to architect fault-tolerant, horizontally scalable services.


Expert proficiency in at least one modern backend language (e.g.,Node Js,Rust, Python, Go, C/C++), with the ability to write high-performance code and lead technical reviews across complex systems.


Experience designing and scaling high-throughput or low-latency services, including API design, concurrency models, resource management, and performance tuning across distributed workloads.


Proven ability to build event-driven or asynchronous architectures using distributed messaging or streaming systems (e.g., Kafka, RabbitMQ).


Hands-on performance and observability skills, including profiling, eliminating bottlenecks, optimizing tail latency, and implementing robust metrics, tracing, and logging for distributed systems.


Experience leading backend initiatives or mentoring engineers with a strong ownership mindset and ability to drive architectural decisions.
