Backend Engineer (High-Performance Systems)

At Cladbe, we are building the nervous system of Indian Real Estate. We are merging acomplex B2B SaaS with a high-volume B2C Marketplace. We don't just serve CRUDAPIs; we handle real-time VoIP, AI inference, and massive data streams on a bare-metal/hybrid infrastructure.

We are looking for an engineer who doesn't just "use" a database but understands lockcontention. We need someone who doesn't just "install" Kafka but understandsconsumer lag and partition strategies.

The Stack You Will Own

You will be architecting and coding against a high-throughput stack designed for 5,000+concurrent business users and 10,000+ daily marketplace users.

• Core Backend: Node.js / TypeScript (Primary), Go (High-performancemicroservices).
• Data Layer: PostgreSQL (CloudNativePG), Janus Graph (Complex relationships),Dragonfly DB (Multithreaded Redis replacement).
• Streaming & Async: Apache Kafka (Strimzi) + Debezium (Change Data Capture).
• Search & Analytics: Elasticsearch (ECK), Inngest (Durable execution).
• Real-Time: LiveKit (WebRTC), Plivo (SIP/VoIP).

Key Responsibilities

• Event-Driven Architecture: Design and implement strictly typed event streamsusing Kafka. You will handle CDC pipelines using Debezium to sync Postgreswith Elasticsearch and JanusGraph.
• Database Optimization: Write high-performance SQL queries. You mustunderstand indexing strategies, EXPLAIN ANALYZE, and how to optimize forwrite-heavy workloads without locking the DB.
• Real-Time Communications: Build signaling servers and handle WebRTC statemanagement for our LiveKit integration.
• Scalability: Work with the DevOps team to ensure your code runs efficiently onKubernetes (K8s). We run on bare metal (OVH/E2E), so memory managementand CPU efficiency matter.
• API Design : Build GraphQL and REST endpoints that are secure, rate-limited,and idempotent.

Must-Have Skills (The Filter)

• Deep PostgreSQL Knowledge: You know the difference between a GIN and BTree index. You understand isolation levels and MVCC.
• Kafka Proficiency: You have used Kafka in production. You understand topics,partitions, offsets, and consumer groups.
• Redis/Dragonfly DB: You know how to use Redis for more than just sessioncaching (e.g., Pub/Sub, Sorted Sets for leaderboards/queues).
• System Design: You can explain how to handle "Head-of-Line" blocking or howto implement an idempotent payment webhook.

Nice-to-Haves

• Experience with Graph Databases (Gremlin/JanusGraph).
• Knowledge of Kubernetes Operators (Strimzi, ECK).
• Experience with WebRTC or SIP protocols.
• Experience dealing with Indian Data Residency (DPDP Act) compliance.
