Salary: 1214 Lakhs per annum (Fixed)

Role Overview

SwipeLoan is hiring an AVP Technology to own, lead, and stabilize the entire technology function, covering:

• Backend Engineering (PHP / Laravel)
• Frontend / Mobile (Flutter)
• QA & Release Quality
• DevOps & AWS Production Operations

This is a hands-on leadership role, not a title-based or vendor-coordination position.

You are expected to understand code, infrastructure, security, and people, and take end-to-end responsibility for delivery and stability in a fintech environment.

Core Responsibilities

1) End-to-End Tech Ownership

• Act as single-point owner of technology outcomes
• Translate business priorities into executable technical plans
• Own delivery timelines, release quality, and production stability
• Be accountable for decisions, not just planning

2) Engineering Team Leadership

• Lead and mentor:
• Backend developers (PHP / Laravel)
• Frontend / Flutter developers
• QA engineers
• DevOps / Infra
• Enforce:
• Coding standards
• Review discipline
• Clear ownership per module
• Drive hiring, performance, and upskilling

3) Architecture & Technical Direction (Practical)

• Maintain and evolve architecture incrementally
• Ensure:
• Clean APIs
• Secure data flow
• Scalable but simple designs
• Avoid over-engineering and unnecessary tech churn

4) DevOps, AWS & Production Governance

• Retain final authority over production decisions
• Ensure:
• Dev / Staging / Prod separation
• Access governance and audits
• Deployment & rollback discipline
• Work closely with DevOps, but do not outsource accountability

5) QA, Release & Quality Control

• Define what is:
• Bug
• Rework
• Enhancement
• Ensure QA blocks unsafe releases
• Stop repeat bugs and post-deployment firefighting

6) Vendor & Third-Party Control

• Own all tech vendor relationships
• Ensure:
• No vendor controls infra, IP, or access
• Clear scope, cost discipline, and accountability
• Be capable of challenging vendors technically

7) Security, Compliance & Fintech Hygiene

• Ensure customer data protection
• Align tech processes with:
• Audit expectations
• Access logs
• Incident reporting
• Act as bridge between compliance and engineering

Required Skills & Experience

Must-Have

• 812 years of software engineering experience
• Strong hands-on background in backend development (PHP/Laravel or similar)
• Good working understanding of:
• Mobile/front-end workflows
• QA & testing cycles
• DevOps & AWS fundamentals
• Experience leading cross-functional tech teams
• Proven production incident handling experience
• Comfortable taking hard decisions and saying NO

Good to Have

• Fintech / payments / lending platform exposure
• Prior role as Tech Lead / Engineering Manager
• Experience working in compliance-heavy environments

What This Role Is NOT

Not a project manager role

Not a hands-off architect

Not a vendor-dependent coordinator

This is a leadership + accountability + execution role
