Project Engineer - Shuttering (APM Level)

Experience Required: 8-10 years | Level: Assistant Project Manager

Key Responsibilities

• Formwork Design & Engineering

• • Design formwork systems for complex geometries and high-rise structures

  • Perform structural calculations for formwork loads and safety factors

  • Select appropriate formwork materials (aluminum, steel, timber, plastic)

  • Create detailed formwork drawings and assembly instructions

• Planning & Coordination

• • Develop formwork erection and striking schedules

  • Coordinate with concrete and reinforcement teams

  • Plan formwork logistics and material movement

  • Interface with design consultants on formwork-related queries

• Quality Control & Safety

• • Inspect formwork installations for dimensional accuracy and safety

  • Ensure compliance with IS 14687 and international formwork standards

  • Conduct safety audits of formwork systems

  • Manage formwork-related incidents and near-misses

• Team Management & Execution

• • Lead formwork gangs and specialized workers

  • Train personnel on formwork techniques and safety procedures

  • Monitor productivity and implement improvement measures

  • Coordinate with equipment operators for crane operations

• Innovation & Optimization

• • Evaluate new formwork technologies and systems

  • Optimize formwork cycles for faster construction

  • Implement cost-saving measures in formwork operations

  • Document best practices and lessons learned

Required Qualifications

• B.E./B.Tech in Civil Engineering

• 8-10 years in formwork engineering with high-rise experience

• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Tekla, or similar design software

• Knowledge of Form Finish, MIVAN, tunnel form, and climbing formwork systems
