Position Overview

The School of Architecture & Design invites applications for a dynamic and technology-oriented Architecture Faculty with expertise in Building Information Modelling (BIM), Computational Design, and Parametric Architecture. The role focuses on integrating advanced digital design technologies with architectural pedagogy, enabling students to engage with contemporary industry practices and future-ready design methodologies.

The candidate will contribute to teaching, research, studio mentoring, and technology-driven innovation in architecture and design education.

Key Responsibilities

1. Teaching & Academic Delivery

• Teach courses related to Architectural Technology, BIM workflows, Parametric Design, and Digital Fabrication.
• Conduct design studios integrating computational tools and advanced modelling techniques.
• Guide students in technology-driven design exploration and architectural innovation.
• Develop course content aligned with COA guidelines, NEP framework, and contemporary digital practices.

2. Technology Integration

• Introduce and mentor students in BIM platforms such as Revit, Navisworks, or Archicad.
• Teach parametric design tools such as Grasshopper, Rhino, Dynamo, or other computational design platforms.
• Integrate AI, digital simulation, and performance-based design tools in architectural pedagogy.
• Support the development of digital labs and technology-based learning environments.

3. Research & Innovation

• Undertake research in computational architecture, digital fabrication, smart building systems, and emerging technologies.
• Publish in peer-reviewed journals and conferences.
• Encourage student-led experimentation with parametric models, generative design, and digital prototyping.

4. Studio Mentoring & Student Development

• Guide technology-driven design studios and thesis projects.
• Mentor students for competitions, exhibitions, and innovation projects.
• Encourage interdisciplinary collaboration with product design, UX/UI, and digital fabrication domains.

5. Institutional Contribution

• Participate in academic planning, curriculum development, workshops, and seminars.
• Contribute to technology-focused initiatives such as computational design labs, maker spaces, and digital fabrication studios.
• Engage in industry collaborations, guest lectures, and professional training sessions.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelors and Masters degree in Architecture (B.Arch + M.Arch) from a recognized institution.
• Specialization or strong experience in Architectural Technology, Computational Design, or Digital Architecture.
• Registration with the Council of Architecture (COA) is desirable.

Required Skills & Expertise

• Strong command of BIM software (Revit / Archicad / Navisworks).
• Proficiency in Parametric Design tools (Rhino, Grasshopper, Dynamo).
• Experience with advanced modelling, generative design, and digital workflows.
• Knowledge of digital fabrication technologies (CNC, laser cutting, 3D printing) is desirable.
• Ability to integrate technology with design thinking and architectural pedagogy.
