Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Active Directory Domain Services Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in designing, implementing, and managing Active Directory environments. This role requires expertise in multi-domain forest design, forest trust planning, and domain controller capacity planning. The candidate should also be proficient in troubleshooting, upgrade planning, operational governance, and recovery processes.

Key Responsibilities:

Design and Architecture:

• Multi-domain forest design concepts
• Forest trust planning
• Domain Controller capacity planning
• FSMO role placement
• OU Topology design
• Knowledge of Active Directory site topology design
• Group Policy strategy and best practices
• Privilege account best practices / Tier model
• Delegation of permissions strategy
• Group management best practices
• Integration of third-party LDAP applications
• RODC (Read-Only Domain Controller) deployment and management
• Basic PowerShell scripting for automation and configuration management

Entra Connect and Synchronization:

• Entra ID, Hybrid identity

Troubleshooting:

• GPO policy processing
• Sysvol and Active Directory replication
• Domain Controller performance
• Authentication failures, including cross-forest authentications

Upgrade Planning:

• Introduction of new Domain Controller OS
• Raising functionality levels

Operational Governance:

• Understanding of change control best practices
• Patch management best practices

Recovery:

• Active Directory forest recovery
• Active Directory object recovery

Networking Knowledge:

• IPv4/IPv6
• Active Directory integrated DNS with security dynamic updates
• DHCP design and management
• Windows Firewall configuration and best practices

Port and Protocol Requirements for Active Directory Services

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
• 10-13 years of experience in Active Directory Domain Services
• Strong understanding of multi-domain forest design and forest trust planning
• Proficiency in PowerShell scripting for automation and configuration management
• Experience with Entra Connect and synchronization (Entra ID, Hybrid identity)
• Excellent troubleshooting skills for GPO policy processing, Sysvol and Active Directory replication, and domain controller performance
• Knowledge of change control and patch management best practices
• Experience in Active Directory forest and object recovery
• Strong networking knowledge, including IPv4/IPv6, DNS, DHCP, and Windows Firewall configuration

Preferred Skills:

• Certifications in Microsoft technologies related to Active Directory
• Experience with third-party LDAP applications
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
