Test Automation Specialist

We are seeking a seasoned Senior Automation Tester with a strong background in JavaScript and WebdriverIO to lead our quality assurance efforts. You will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining scalable automated testing frameworks for complex web applications. The ideal candidate is a proactive problem-solver who can bridge the gap between development and quality to ensure seamless delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• Framework Development: Design and implement robust, maintainable, and highly functional automated test suites from scratch using WebdriverIO and JavaScript/TypeScript.
• Test Strategy: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define testing strategies, test plans, and test cases for new features and regression cycles.
• API Testing: Perform automated API testing using tools like Supertest, Axios, or integrated WebdriverIO services.
• CI/CD Integration: Integrate automated tests into the DevOps pipeline (Jenkins, GitLab CI, or GitHub Actions) to ensure continuous quality.
• Code Reviews: Conduct thorough code reviews for automation scripts to ensure best practices, modularity, and high performance.
• Mentorship: Guide and mentor junior QA engineers in automation best practices and JavaScript fundamentals.
• Reporting: Analyze test results, identify bottlenecks, and provide detailed bug reports and quality metrics to stakeholders.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Experience: Minimum of 5 years in Software Automation Testing.
• Core Language: Expert-level proficiency in JavaScript (ES6+) or TypeScript.
• Tooling: Hands-on experience with WebdriverIO (v7/v8) and its ecosystem (reporters, services, etc.).
• Patterns: Deep understanding of Page Object Model (POM) and asynchronous programming (Async/Await).
• Web Technologies: Strong grasp of HTML5, CSS selectors, and XPath for robust element identification.
• Version Control: Expert knowledge of Git (branching, merging, pull requests).
• Databases: Basic to intermediate SQL knowledge for data verification.
• Soft Skills: Excellent communication skills and the ability to articulate technical issues to non-technical team members.
