About the role

We are looking for an experienced Tech Lead to lead our development team and take ownership of our B2C and D2C web platforms. You will bridge the gap between engineering excellence and business outcomes leading a team of developers, driving architectural decisions, and ensuring our digital products are fast, scalable, and reliable.

What you'll be doing

Lead, mentor, and manage a team of 5 or more developers assigning tasks, reviewing code, and ensuring timely delivery

Own the architecture, development, and maintenance of B2C and D2C web platforms

Collaborate closely with product, design, and e-commerce teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions

Drive code quality through reviews, best practices, documentation, and testing standards

Identify performance bottlenecks and lead optimisation efforts for speed, scalability, and uptime

Evaluate and introduce new tools, frameworks, and technologies where relevant

Conduct sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives ensuring smooth agile delivery

Work with cross-functional stakeholders to align technical roadmap with business priorities

What we're looking for

58 years of software development experience, with at least 2 years in a Tech Lead or senior engineering role

Experience leading a team of 5 or more developers in a product or e-commerce environment

Hands-on experience developing or maintaining B2C or D2C websites you understand what high-traffic consumer platforms need

Prior experience working with B2C or e-commerce brands is strongly preferred

Working knowledge across a broad tech stack including JavaScript, Node.js, Python, and frontend frameworks

Strong understanding of REST APIs, databases (SQL/NoSQL), cloud infrastructure, and CI/CD pipelines

Ability to make pragmatic architectural decisions and communicate them clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders

Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and a collaborative leadership style

Tech stack what you should know

JavaScript, Node.js, Python, React / Next.js, REST APIs

PHP, MySQL / MongoDB, AWS / GCP, Git / CI/CD, Docker

Preferred (nice to have)

Experience in the jewellery, luxury, or fashion e-commerce space. Familiarity with Shopify, Magento, or custom e-commerce platforms.
