Job Description

Company Description

Deccan Development Co. is a privately owned real estate investment and development firm based in Houston, Texas. We remain nimble and opportunity-driven balancing profitability, design, and function to stimulate local economies and enhance the communities in which we build. Our project portfolio spans ground-up commercial development, permanent supportive housing (PSH), mixed-use development, medical outpatient facilities, and adaptive reuse with a significant focus on PSH projects that leverage layered public capital including LIHTC, HOME, CDBG, FHLB AHP, HUD programs, and state housing finance agency sources.

Our work is guided by four core values: Quality designing and building to exacting standards using the best materials and methods; Value Creation enhancing the economic prosperity of the communities we serve; Integrity treating everyone fairly, honestly, and with respect; and Innovation applying the latest technologies and project methodologies to deliver superior results. We develop projects that are thoughtfully planned, well designed, conscientiously built, and professionally marketed.

We are a lean, high-performance team. Everyone who joins Deccan is expected to operate with an ownership mentality, communicate proactively, and deliver polished, client-ready work with minimal oversight.

Role Description

You will be the primary production resource for all pre-construction intelligence: feasibility analysis, plan review, constructability review, code research, cost planning, scheduling, and quality control documentation. You will attend and document pre-construction, construction, and project coordination meetings and over time, you will transition into moderating those meetings directly with owners, architects, contractors, and public agency stakeholders.

This role has a defined leadership trajectory. As Deccan's pipeline grows, you will build and lead a team of back-office support staff in India. We are looking for someone who thinks like a future team leader, not someone looking for a job. A working understanding of grant-funded affordable housing development including HUD, LIHTC, HOME, CDBG, and comparable programs is a meaningful advantage. Accuracy, clarity, and professional-grade deliverables are non-negotiable
