About the Role:
Recast is looking for a Security Engineer to strengthen day-to-day security operations and reduce operational risk by improving coverage, responsiveness, and execution across our security program. This role supports timely investigation and response to security alerts and tickets, improves vulnerability management follow-through, and enables the security team to shift from reactive work to consistent, preventative security improvement.

- Faster and more consistent investigation and response to security alerts and tickets.
- Reduced backlog of open security issues and improved remediation follow-through.
- Improved operational resilience by removing single-person dependency.
- Stronger audit and compliance readiness through consistent execution.
Key Role Responsibilities:
Security Operations & Incident Response:
- Monitor, triage, investigate, and respond to security alerts and security tickets across the environment.
- Support incident response efforts by coordinating investigations, documenting findings, and driving remediation actions with internal teams.
Vulnerability Management & Risk Reduction:
- Partner with infrastructure and application owners to track and remediate vulnerabilities end-to-end.
- Reduce backlog and improve consistency of remediation work through dedicated security capacity.
Security Program Support:
- Maintain and contribute to security documentation, evidence, and operational readiness.
- Assist with security reviews of systems and services, identifying gaps and validating remediation outcomes.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Work closely with DevOps, IT, and Engineering teams to implement practical security improvements that reduce risk without slowing delivery.
Minimum Requirements:
- Experience supporting security operations, incident investigation, and vulnerability remediation.
- Ability to work cross-functionally to drive security findings through to resolution. Strong written communication and documentation skills.
- Experience working with ITSM for ticket management and automation.
Preferred Knowledge and Skills:
- Familiarity with Microsoft security tooling and modern cloud/SaaS environments.
- Experience supporting audit or compliance activities such as SOC 2 or ISO 27001.
- Microsoft Defender security tooling (Endpoint and Cloud)
- Experience with SDLC Security
- (Github Advanced Security, Sonar Cloud, etc)
- Experience utilizing AI systems to enhance security practices
