Job Description

Job Title: Customer Engineer

Department: Sales / Customer Support / Aftermarket

Location: Sanand


Job Purpose

The Customer Engineer will be responsible for handling customer interactions, generating inquiries, and driving sales of capital parts and spare parts for pharmaceutical machinery. The role involves technical understanding of equipment, customer visits, order conversion, commercial coordination, and post-sales support.


Key Responsibilities

Sales & Customer Interaction

  • Visit customers to generate inquiries and leads for pharma machinery spare parts and capital parts.
  • Promote and explain the companys pharma machine parts product range to customers.
  • Understand customer technical requirements and suggest appropriate spare parts or solutions.
  • Prepare and submit quotations/offers based on customer requirements.
  • Follow up with customers for conversion of submitted offers into orders.
  • Achieve assigned sales targets for parts and spares.


Commercial & Coordination

  • Coordinate with internal teams (sales, service, stores, and finance) to ensure smooth order execution.
  • Handle basic commercial discussions and negotiations with customers under company guidelines.
  • Follow up with customers for pending payments and support timely collections.
  • Ensure accurate order documentation and communication with customers.


After-Sales & Support

  • Act as a point of contact for customer queries related to parts availability, delivery status, and technical clarification.
  • Support after-sales activities related to spare parts and service coordination.
  • Maintain long-term relationships with customers for repeat business.


Reporting & Documentation

  • Maintain records of customer visits, inquiries, quotations, orders, and payment follow-ups.
  • Update sales/CRM systems with customer and order information.
  • Submit regular sales and activity reports to the reporting manager.


Educational Qualification

  • BE / BTech / Diploma Mechanical Engineering (Mandatory)


Experience Requirements

  • 3 to 4 years of experience in:
  • Capital parts sales
  • Pharma machinery spare parts sales
  • Industrial equipment sales or after-sales support
  • Experience in the pharmaceutical machinery industry is highly preferred.


Key Skills & Competencies

  • Good technical understanding of pharma machinery and spare parts
  • Ability to understand drawings, BOMs, and part specifications
  • Strong communication and customer-handling skills
  • Negotiation and follow-up skills
  • Target-driven and result-oriented approach
  • Willingness to travel for customer visits
  • Basic knowledge of ERP / CRM systems is an advantage
