Job Description
Test Engineer (Growth Track Lead)
Hublvu | Hybrid
Location: Chennai
Shift: General
About Hublvu
Hublvu is an AI Operations Intelligence platform that helps IT, network, and cloud operations teams diagnose and resolve incidents up to 70% faster while keeping human experts in control. We combine Agentic AI, institutional knowledge, and automated runbooks to reduce MTTR and scale expertise across the organization.
We build with AI and we hire people who do the same.
About the Role
We are looking for an ambitious, high-energy Test Engineer with 35 years of experience who is ready to grow into a quality leadership role.
This is not a manual QA position. You will own and evolve the test strategy across a cloud-native, polyglot microservices platform running on Kubernetes in Azure AKS. You will have the opportunity to influence framework design, improve quality processes, and eventually grow into leading the Quality Engineering function as the company scales.
We are especially interested in candidates who bring exposure to cloud-native SaaS environments along with some background in IT operations, networking, telecom, infrastructure, or observability platforms, so that our product domain and customer use cases are not entirely new to them.
Key Responsibilities
- Own and evolve the overall testing strategy across unit, integration, API, end-to-end, performance, load, and reliability testing for a distributed microservices platform.
- Design, build, and maintain scalable automation frameworks covering 350+ REST and gRPC endpoints across Java, Python, and Node.js services.
- Build and execute E2E automation for workflows across a Vue.js frontend.
- Develop test strategies for asynchronous, event-driven, and distributed systems running in Kubernetes and cloud-native environments.
- Validate AI-powered functionality including LLM workflows, RAG retrieval quality, agentic execution, and other non-deterministic behaviors.
- Integrate automation into CI/CD pipelines and establish quality gates across build, deployment, and release processes.
- Manage and maintain test environments in cloud-native infrastructure, particularly Azure and AKS.
- Collaborate closely with engineering and architecture teams to improve testability, observability, and quality-first design decisions.
- Contribute to testing strategies around infrastructure, cloud services, networking scenarios, and platform resiliency.
- Mentor future QA engineers and grow toward owning the Quality Engineering function.
Required Skills & Experience
- 35 years of experience in Quality Engineering, Test Automation, or SDET roles.
- Strong hands-on experience building automation frameworks from scratch.
- Strong coding skills in TypeScript or JavaScript are required; Java or Python experience is strongly preferred.
- Experience with:
- Playwright, Cypress, or similar frameworks for E2E automation
- Jest, pytest, JUnit, or similar for unit and integration testing
- REST and gRPC API testing
- Performance and load testing using k6, Locust, JMeter, or similar tools
- Solid understanding of cloud-native systems, SaaS architectures, containers, Kubernetes, and microservices.
- Strong understanding of core cloud concepts including compute, networking, storage, scaling, security, monitoring, and deployment pipelines.
- Practical experience working with cloud platforms. Azure experience is preferred, but strong AWS or GCP experience with deep cloud fundamentals is also acceptable.
- Familiarity with Azure AKS, Kubernetes-based deployments, and testing in containerized environments.
- Comfortable designing testing strategies for distributed, async, and event-driven architectures.
- Ability to make pragmatic decisions about what to automate, how much to automate, and where risk matters most.
- Self-directed, highly motivated, and eager to grow from an individual contributor into a quality leader.
Preferred / Nice to Have
- Background or familiarity with one or more of the following domains:
- IT Operations
- Networking
- Telecom
- Data Center Infrastructure
- Enterprise Infrastructure
- Experience with observability or AIOps platforms such as Datadog, Dynatrace, Splunk, New Relic, or similar.
- Experience testing cloud-native SaaS products.
- Hands-on Azure experience, especially Azure AKS, Azure networking, and cloud monitoring.
- Exposure to graph or vector databases such as Neo4j, Qdrant, or similar.
- Experience with broader automation or infrastructure tooling such as Terraform, Ansible, or n8n.
- Understanding of networking fundamentals such as APIs, protocols, DNS, load balancers, firewalls, VPC/VNet concepts, or distributed system communication.
