Propulsion Test Engineer

1. Position name: Propulsion test engineer

Overview:

The Propulsion Test Engineer will support the testing, evaluation, and qualification of propulsion systems used in TASLs defense Key Responsibilities:

Develop test plans, procedures, and test matrices aligned with TASL standards.

Set up and maintain test rigs, fixtures, instrumentation, and DAQ systems.

Execute thermal, vibration, shock, endurance, and environmental tests.

Support engine ground runs and propulsion subsystem validation.

Record and analyze propulsion parameters: RPM, torque, thrust, temperature, pressure, etc.

Perform trend analysis and assist in troubleshooting and failure analysis.

Maintain safety logs, compliance documentation, and operational records.

Collaborate with design, systems, avionics, production, and quality teams.

Required Skills & Expertise:

Strong understanding of thermodynamics, propulsion, combustion, and fluid mechanics.

Hands-on experience with test setups, pneumatic/hydraulic systems, and instrumentation.

Proficiency with DAQ systems and data interpretation.

Familiarity with CAD/CAE tools (MATLAB, ANSYS preferred).

Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and documentation skills.

Ability to work in high & security defense test environments.

Qualifications:

B.E./B.Tech in Aerospace, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.

15 years of propulsion or engine testing experience preferred.

Experience in defense/aerospace environments is an advantage.

Work Environment:

High security test facilities involving hazardous operations.

Collaboration with multidisciplinary engineering teams.

Strict adherence to safety, quality, and confidentiality norms.
