Key Responsibilities:

A project in charge of infrastructure projects is responsible for the end-to-end planning, execution, monitoring, and successful delivery of projects. The role demands a comprehensive understanding of technical, commercial, and managerial aspects of construction, along with active on-site involvement.

1. Technical & Engineering Knowledge

* Thorough understanding of construction methodologies such as earthwork, foundations, RCC works, structural steel, and finishing works.

* Ability to read, interpret, and coordinate architectural, structural, and MEP drawings.

* Knowledge of construction materials, specifications, and quality standards.

* Familiarity with surveying techniques, levels, and site layout execution.

* Competence in quantity take-offs, BOQ analysis, and material estimation.

2. Project Planning & Execution

* Expertise in project planning, scheduling, and sequencing of activities.

* Ability to prepare and monitor daily, weekly, and monthly work plans.

* Ensuring execution aligns with approved drawings, specifications, and timelines.

* Effective coordination with consultants, contractors, vendors, and internal teams.

* Capability to identify potential delays and implement mitigation strategies.

*Expertise in preparing project proposals, documentation, and quotations

3. Commercial & Cost Management

* Strong understanding of project budgeting and cost control mechanisms.

* Monitoring and controlling project expenses to avoid cost overruns.

* Knowledge of procurement processes, vendor evaluation, and negotiations.

* Verification of contractor bills, measurements, and invoices.

* Ensuring optimum utilization of resources to maintain project profitability.

4. Documentation & Contract Administration

* Proficiency in managing project documentation, including work orders, agreements, and contracts.

* Preparation and maintenance of DPR, MIS reports, and site records.

* Ensuring compliance with statutory approvals and regulatory requirements.

* Maintaining documentation for audits, inspections, and submissions.

5. Site & Resource Management

* Efficient management of engineers, supervisors, and the labor workforce.

* Allocation and optimization of manpower, materials, and machinery.

* Monitoring site productivity and adherence to targets.

* Handling subcontractors and resolving operational challenges.

6. Materials purchase

Review material requirements in coordination with the site team

Obtain and evaluate quotations from multiple suppliers

Select vendors based on cost, quality, and delivery terms

Prepare and issue purchase orders as per company procedures

Ensure timely delivery of materials through regular follow-up

Maintain proper records of purchases, invoices, and documentation.

7. Quality Assurance & Control

* Ensuring work execution as per approved quality standards.

* Implementing quality control procedures.

* Conducting inspections and minimizing defects.

* Coordinating with quality teams for testing.

8. Communication & Stakeholder Management

* Effective communication with clients and teams.

* Conducting project review meetings.

* Preparing professional reports and updates.

* Managing client expectations.

9. Software & Digital Tools

* Proficiency in MS Excel for reporting and analysis.

* Basic knowledge of AutoCAD.

* Use of digital tools for coordination.

10. Leadership & Decision-Making Skills

* Strong leadership and team management.

* Ability to make timely decisions.

* Problem-solving skills for site challenges.
