Role Description

This is a full-time hybrid role for a Principal Engineer specializing in Progress OpenEdge, based in Bengaluru. The role involves designing, developing, and maintaining software solutions using Progress OpenEdge technologies. Responsibilities include analyzing technical requirements, troubleshooting and resolving complex system issues, and optimizing application performance. The Principal Engineer will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality solutions and provide expertise in software architecture and best practices. This role requires an individual who is proactive, detail-oriented, and skilled in both technical and leadership aspects.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 12 years of experience
• Strong expertise in Progress OpenEdge, including 4GL programming and database administration
• Proficiency in developing and optimizing software designs and architectures
• Experience with system troubleshooting, debugging, and resolving complex technical issues
• Familiarity with Agile or Scrum project methodologies
• Strong communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders
• Ability to mentor and guide junior engineers, providing technical oversight
• Experience in implementing scalable and efficient solutions adhering to best practices
• Knowledge of software development lifecycle (SDLC) and quality assurance processes
• Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
• Previous experience in a similar role within the technology or consulting sector will be an advantage
