Job Profile: Microsoft Universal Print Engineer / Architect


Location: Bangalore, India


Work Mode: Hybrid


Shift Time: 6:30 AM 3:30 PM

The Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Microsoft Universal Print Engineer / Architect to design, implement, and

manage enterprise-scale cloud printing solutions as part of a Microsoft 365 E5 transformation program.

The role involves migrating legacy print infrastructure to Microsoft Universal Print and integrating with

Intune and Entra ID in a secure, scalable, and user-friendly manner.


Responsibilities:

Design & Architecture

Design Universal Print architecture (HLD/LLD) including connector placement and topology

Define printer onboarding standards, naming conventions, and governance models

Design secure print release solutions (QR-based / pull printing)

Align print services with Entra ID and Intune policies

Implementation & Deployment

Deploy and configure Microsoft Universal Print connectors

Configure printer deployment via Microsoft Intune

Implement RBAC and group-based access control using Entra ID

Set up secure release (Universal Print Anywhere)

Configure printer policies for Windows and macOS devices

Migration & Rollout

Assess and migrate legacy print servers to Universal Print

Develop site-wise rollout and cutover plans

Execute printer onboarding and validation across multiple locations

Decommission legacy print infrastructure and manage dependencies

Operations & Support

Develop runbooks, SOPs, and operational documentation

Create knowledge base articles for IT and end users

Provide L3 support for Universal Print issues

Monitor print services, connectors, and performance


Must - Have Qualifications:

Minimum 6+ years of experience in Microsoft Universal Print Engineer

Strong knowledge of Microsoft Intune (device configuration & policy deployment)

Experience with Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD) RBAC, groups, identity integration

Solid understanding of Windows print infrastructure (print servers, drivers, GPOs)

Networking fundamentals (DNS, firewall, proxy, connectivity troubleshooting)

Endpoint management (Windows 10/11, macOS basics)

Prior experience in enterprise Microsoft 365 / Modern Workplace projects preferred

Experience with cloud migration projects

Experience creating HLD/LLD documents

Strong documentation skills (runbooks, KB articles, SOPs)

Experience in enterprise rollout and migration projects

Experience with secure print solutions (pull printing, QR-based release)

Familiarity with Microsoft Defender / security integration

Experience in global or multi-site deployments

Knowledge of print integrations with enterprise applications (e.g., SAP)


Preferred Qualifications:

Masters / Bachelors degree in Engineering & Technology (MCA / ME / M.Tech / BE / B.Tech) in

Computer Science / Electronics & Communication / Information Science or related fields.

Ability to work in cross-functional teams (Security, Networking, Endpoint
