Job Summary,
The Microsoft Dynamics 365 POS Technical Specialist is responsible for end-to-end mgmt, deployment, and support of Microsoft Dynamics 365 Retail POS solutions across pan-India retail stores. The role ensures seamless POS operations, system stability, regulatory readiness and high system availability to support daily store operations in a high-volume retail environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Dynamics 365 POS & Store Operations
- Configure and manage new store creation for multiple retail locations across India.
- Install, configure, and support Cloud POS (CPOS) and Modern POS (MPOS) for stores, kiosks, and back-office operations.
- Perform store-level POS configuration, including layouts, hardware profiles, tax parameters, and operational settings.
- Manage POS user accounts, role-based access, and security permissions aligned with store hierarchies (cashiers, supervisors, store managers).
- Configure and maintain POS terminals, peripherals, and store devices to ensure uninterrupted billing operations.
- Monitor and resolve batch synchronization jobs between Head Office (HQ) and stores to ensure real-time data consistency.
- Provide Level 2 / Level 3 support for POS incidents affecting store billing, returns, and end-of-day processes, Incident management
- Assist in issue diagnostics, root cause analysis, and production incident reviews using LCS insights.
- Monitor system health, alerts, and performance using Microsoft Lifecycle Services (LCS).
- Compliance & Retail Readiness
- Basic knowledge on POS configurations support, tax structures, and audit requirements.
- Support statutory and internal audits by maintaining configuration, access control, and change documentation.
- Ensure system availability during high-traffic retail periods such as festive seasons, sales, and promotions.
Required Skills & Experience
Functional Skills
- Basic understanding of Indian retail store operations, billing workflows, and cashier processes.
- Hands-on experience in store rollout, POS configuration, and user management.
- Exposure to multi-location retail environments with centralized IT governance.
Technical Skills
- Proven experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Retail / Commerce POS (CPOS & MPOS).
- Working knowledge of Dynamics Lifecycle Services (LCS).
- Ability to troubleshoot synchronization, deployment, and performance-related POS issues, timely co-ordination with vendors
Qualifications
Bachelors degree in IT, Computer Applications, or Engineering.
Min 58 years of experience in retail POS or ERP support within Indian organised retail.
Microsoft Dynamics 365 certifications are preferred.
Soft Skills
- Ability to work in 24x7 or extended retail support windows, including weekends and festive periods.
- Strong coordination skills with store teams, vendors, and internal IT stakeholders.
- Clear documentation and reporting skills for audits and management review.
- Excellent communication skills.
