Role Overview

The L3 Production Support Analyst is responsible for providing advanced technical and functional support for mission-critical trading, risk, payments, treasury, and capital markets applications. The role ensures system stability, rapid incident resolution, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement of production platforms.

This position operates within a 24x7 support model and collaborates with development, infrastructure, business stakeholders, and external vendors.


Key Responsibilities

Production Incident Management

  • Act as Level 2/3 escalation point for high-severity (P1/P2) incidents.
  • Lead triage calls and drive resolution within SLA.
  • Perform deep-dive troubleshooting across application, middleware, database, and infrastructure layers.
  • Own post-incident RCA documentation and preventive action plans.

Application & System Support

  • Support front-office, middle-office, and back-office systems.
  • Monitor trade lifecycle flows (trade capture validation settlement reporting).
  • Analyze trade breaks, reconciliation issues, settlement failures.
  • Provide data fixes in production (under governance and change control).

Technical Troubleshooting

  • Strong hands-on debugging in:
  • Unix/Linux scripting
  • SQL (Oracle / SQL Server / Sybase)
  • Log analysis using any of tools like Splunk, Kibana, Dynatrace, AppDynamics.

Release & Change Management

  • Validate production deployments.
  • Perform smoke testing post-release.
  • Review impact analysis for production changes.
  • Support weekend releases and major rollouts.

Automation & Stability Engineering

  • Develop automation scripts for health checks and recurring issues.
  • Identify repetitive incidents and implement permanent fixes.
  • Improve monitoring coverage and alert tuning.
  • Drive shift-left initiatives to reduce ticket volumes.

Regulatory & Compliance Awareness

  • Ensure adherence to audit and compliance requirements.
  • Support regulatory reporting systems.
  • Maintain production controls aligned with banking policies.

Domain Knowledge Required

Strong understanding of:

  • Equities, Fixed Income, FX, Derivatives
  • Trade lifecycle management
  • Market data feeds
  • SWIFT messaging
  • Risk & PnL systems
  • Reconciliation & settlement processes

Experience with platforms such as:

  • Apex (preferred) / Murex / Calypso
  • Trading OMS/EMS systems
  • Treasury systems
  • Core banking applications

Required Skills
