Location: Tirupur, Tamil Nadu

Reports To: Head of Manufacturing & Director

Job Overview:

We are seeking an experienced and strategic Head of Sourcing to lead the procurement of fabric, sewing trims and packaging materials for our garment manufacturing operations. This role will be responsible for end-to-end sourcing strategy, supplier management, cost optimization, and ensuring uninterrupted material availability to support production timelines.

The ideal candidate will bring strong industry expertise, leadership capability, and a structured approach to procurement, along with the ability to drive efficiency, quality, and continuous improvement across sourcing operations.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Strategic Sourcing & Procurement

• Lead sourcing and procurement of all fabric, sewing trims, packaging materials, and related accessories.
• Develop and implement sourcing strategies aligned with business objectives, cost targets, and quality standards.
• Ensure timely availability of materials to support production schedules without disruptions.

2. Domestic & International Sourcing

• Manage both domestic and global supplier networks to ensure competitive pricing, quality, and reliability.
• Drive supplier negotiations, contract finalization, and commercial terms to achieve cost efficiencies.
• Identify and onboard new suppliers to strengthen the sourcing base and mitigate risks.

3. Inventory & Demand Management

• Oversee inventory planning and control for trims and packaging materials.
• Collaborate with planning and production teams to align material availability with demand forecasts.
• Optimize inventory levels to balance working capital and production requirements.

4. Process Excellence & SOP Implementation

• Establish, standardize, and continuously improve procurement processes and SOPs.
• Drive digitization and system improvements in sourcing and inventory management.
• Ensure compliance with internal policies, audit requirements, and industry standards.

5. Team Leadership & Cross-Functional Coordination

• Lead, mentor, and develop the sourcing team to deliver high performance.
• Work closely with production, merchandising, design, and quality teams to ensure seamless execution.
• Set clear KPIs and drive accountability across the team.

6. Supplier Relationship & Performance Management

• Build and maintain strong strategic relationships with key suppliers.
• Monitor supplier performance on quality, delivery, and cost parameters.
• Conduct periodic reviews and implement corrective actions where required.

7. Risk Management & Problem Solving

• Proactively identify sourcing risks (price fluctuations, supply disruptions, quality issues) and implement mitigation plans.
• Resolve procurement challenges with speed and sound decision-making.

8. Reporting & Analytics

• Track and report key sourcing metrics including cost savings, supplier performance, inventory levels, and service levels.
• Provide insights and recommendations to senior management for continuous improvement.

Education:

• Bachelors degree in Textile Technology, Fashion Technology, or a related field.

Experience:

• 7-10 years of relevant experience in sourcing within the garment industry.
• Strong exposure to fabric, sewing trims and packaging materials is essential.
• Prior experience in leading teams and handling end-to-end sourcing operations is required.

Language:

• Fluent in English; knowledge of Tamil and Hindi will be an advantage.
