Forward Deployed Software Engineer

THE ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES

As a Forward Deployed Software Engineer, you will translate HCL Software's Agentic Platform into customised, production-ready solutions for enterprise clients building integrations, resolving complex issues, and training client teams to maximise ROI on their software investments.

• Translate HCL Software products into production-ready, client-tailored solutions that fit existing enterprise infrastructure.
• Build APIs, automation scripts, and custom data pipelines to integrate HCL solutions seamlessly into legacy and modern systems.
• Provide on-site or remote diagnostic support resolve edge cases and debug production issues under tight, client-driven deadlines.
• Lead technical discovery workshops, act as a subject matter expert, and train client teams to maximise adoption and ROI.
• They are hands-on software engineers who design, write, test, debug, and deploy production-grade solutions directly at customer sites.
• They work closely with client teams to solve real operational challenges rather than only providing recommendations.
• Working in highly secure or air-gapped environments
• Creating custom workflows and operational applications

REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS (Must-Have)

• 7+ years of experience in software solutions, technical architecture, or IT consulting.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• Proficiency in Python and/or Java for building integrations and automation scripts.
• Strong command of REST and GraphQL APIs, OAuth/JWT authentication, and frontend/backend fundamentals.
• Experience with advanced database management including Vector and NoSQL databases.
• Familiarity with containerisation (Docker, Kubernetes) and CI/CD pipelines.
• Cloud platform experience on at least one of AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Ability to work in fast-paced, customer-facing environments.

Nice-to-Have

• Hands-on experience with HCL Software products or comparable enterprise software platforms.
• Background in AI/ML integration, LLM deployment, or Autonomous Agent implementations.
• Familiarity with security frameworks and compliance standards (ISO 27001, SOC 2, GDPR).
• Experience delivering technical training or enablement programmes.
