Role Description
This is a full-time remote role for an Electrical Design Engineer. The role involves designing, developing, and implementing electrical components and systems for advanced robotic platforms. Day-to-day responsibilities include creating detailed electrical designs, testing prototypes, collaborating with cross-functional engineering teams, and ensuring compliance with safety and industry standards. The engineer will also address power distribution challenges and optimize system performance for high operational efficiency and sustainability.
Key Responsibilities:
System Architecture:Design the complete electrical "nervous system" of the AMR, balancing high-power traction (200A) with sensitive low-power electronics.
High-Power Management: Specify and integrate the BMS, contactors, and protection circuits for a 2.2kW powertrain. Custom PCB Design: Design, prototype, and test multi-layer PCBs for sensor fusion, communication hubs, and power regulation.
Wiring Harness Design: Create professional, industrial-grade wiring looms (schematics and physical routing) including connector selection for harsh environments.
Sensor & RF Integration: Integrate and troubleshoot high-bandwidth sensors (Lidar, Radar, Cameras) and RF modules (5G, Teleoperation, Remote Antennas).
Safety & Compliance: Design hardware-level safety interlocks and E-Stop systems in accordance with robotics safety standards (e.g., ISO 3691-4).
Collaborate with remote team in ET time
Required Skills & Qualifications:
Education: Bachelors or Masters in Electrical Engineering, Robotics, or a related field.
Experience:3+ years in robotics, automotive, or heavy industrial automation.
PCB Expertise: Mastery of Altium Designer, KiCad, or OrCAD (including high-speed digital layout and power electronics).
Harness Design: Proficiency in SolidWorks Electrical, Zuken, or AutoCAD Electrical
Communication Protocols: Deep understanding of CAN bus, Ethernet, GMSL, and Serial interfaces.
Power Electronics: Proven experience handling high-current DC systems (100A+) and DC-DC conversion
RF Knowledge: Familiarity with antenna placement and 5G/LTE module integration for teleoperation.
