Function Overview
The GIC Supply Chain team manages end-to-end operations, encompassing planning, sourcing, manufacturing, logistics, and analytics. They strategically plan to meet market demands, optimize sourcing, ensure efficient production, and oversee the seamless movement of goods from production to delivery. The team employs advanced analytics throughout these processes, fostering adaptability and operational excellence. This collaborative approach ensures a well-coordinated supply chain that aligns with both organizational goals and dynamic market conditions.
Purpose of the role
The purpose of the job is to support Demand planning function by providing Innovative solutions and help implementing it to optimize/Standardize processes which will bring improvement to overall forecasting approach resulting in better accuracy. Explore and take up opportunities which supports the demand planning efforts by creating and executing industry standard approaches
Key Accountabilities
- Basic understanding of new product launches and forecasting techniques.
- Understand statistical forecasting models and parameters, fine-tune model parameters to align forecasts with business needs and market dynamics.
- Analyze forecasting outputs and prepare final analysis reports for the stakeholders to understand the data analysis steps, enabling them to take important decisions based on various facts and insights.
- Identify, analyze and interpret patterns and trends through descriptive analysis in complex data sets that could be helpful for diagnosis and prediction.
- Evaluate and monitor different performance metrics (e.g. Accuracy, Bias etc.) and publish the performance dashboard across the stakeholders.
- Identify improvement opportunities through RCA to achieve business targets and enhance reliability.
- Actively collect and manage data requirements for the demand forecasting of new launches through trackers. Prioritize forecast support requests based on business impact and resource constraints.
- Use tools (like GCP, Python Dash, Tableau, AFO etc.) to extract, transform and manage data from primary and secondary sources using SQL, Excel and Python.
- Constantly engage with stakeholders to ensure alignment in demand forecast. Partner closely with brand marketing team to understand launch strategies, promotional plans, and distribution goals.
- Lead consensus meetings with key stakeholders, explain the underlying assumptions, and incorporate cross-functional feedback to arrive at an aligned demand plan.
- Drive process standardization by training stakeholders on existing tools, methodology, improving adoption and efficiency.
- Coordinate with technical /data science teams to identify process improvement opportunities, validate outputs, propose modification if required.
Minimum Qualifications
- Minimum of a bachelors degree in Operational research, statistics, supply chain and any other relevant field 3 years of related experience
- 2-3 years of experience in data analysis and high level of analytical skills,
- Working knowledge of data visualization software like Tableau/Power BI/Looker
- Basic knowledge of supply chain/CPG/Retail
- Familiar with forecasting techniques like Time series models (Exponential smoothing/ARIMA) and other ML technique
- Proficiency in statistics and statistical tool like R/ Python/Excel/SQL to be used for data set analysis.
- Basic knowledge of cloud environment like GCP/AWS/AZURE
- Critical thinking, Integrity and team player
- Functional competence in the area of Demand management
- Having a systematic and logical approach to problem-solving
- Ability to influence without power.
- Good interpersonal skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Masters degree
- 5 years of related experience
- Major Area of Study in Operations
- Professional Certifications: CSCMP, APICS
- Excel, Knowledge in ERP, and familiarity with functional package SAP APO
