Database Engineer:

Responsibilities:

• Help set the teams technical direction of our core systems, model best practices for development, and take a high level of ownership over architecture decisions
• Optimize and tune SQL queries for performance and scalability.
• Measure and improve performance and monitoring for our core backend stack
• Lead system and integration testing; provide guidance via code and design reviews for members of the development team
• Collaborate with the broader engineering and product management teams on new ideas and functionality for our products and their underlying data platform
• Create and maintain technical documentation on development processes and code
• Work in a demanding but highly collegial and collaborative environment

Qualifications:

• Dependency Injection, Test Driven Development
• 3+ years of experience with SQL Server, Postgres, or MySQL
• Strong proficiency in SQL and relational database systems (e.g., Microsoft SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL).
• Experience working in an Agile environment
• Experience using Continuous Integration & Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) automation
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Nice to Have:

• Certifications: AWS (preferred), Azure, or GCP. Data specific certification is a plus.
• Experience with cloud-based databases (e.g., Azure SQL, Amazon RDS).
• Knowledge of scripting languages (e.g., Python, PowerShell) for automation.
