We are looking for a Cost Engineer (Mechanical) with strong expertise in should costing, cost modeling, and VAVE to join our team in Bangalore.

Job Summary

The role involves developing accurate cost models for mechanical components, performing should cost analysis, and participating in teardown and VAVE activities to drive cost optimization and value engineering initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop detailed cost models for various commodities (machining, casting, sheet metal, plastics, etc.)
• Perform should cost analysis and validate supplier quotations
• Participate in teardown and benchmarking activities
• Drive VAVE (Value Analysis / Value Engineering) initiatives for cost reduction
• Analyze cost drivers and recommend optimization opportunities
• Collaborate with sourcing, design, and manufacturing teams
• Support RFQ processes with cost insights and breakdowns

Required Skills

• Strong experience in Should Costing & Cost Modeling
• Good understanding of manufacturing processes
• Hands-on exposure to VAVE
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Preferred Skills

• Experience in automotive / manufacturing industry
• Knowledge of Excel-based cost models
• Exposure to Power BI / Tableau (good to have)
• Global stakeholder interaction experience

Qualifications & Experience

• B.E / B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering
• 35 years of relevant experience in costing engineering
