Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site role based in Hyderabad for a Composites Structural Stress Analyst. The role involves conducting stress and structural analysis of composite materials and components, particularly for aerospace applications. Responsibilities include evaluating the strength and performance of composite structures, performing detailed stress calculations, and identifying potential failure mechanisms. In addition, the analyst will collaborate with engineering teams to propose design enhancements and ensure compliance with relevant standards and guidelines.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform stress analysis of composite and aerospace structures using analytical approaches, finite element methods (FEA) to evaluate strength, stiffness, stability, fatigue behaviour, and overall structural performance of engineered components.
- Understand application-specific loading conditions, operational environments, and structural requirements to accurately determine load cases, boundary conditions, and design inputs for composite and aerospace structures.
- Develop structurally efficient and manufacturable designs by integrating load analysis, material behavior, manufacturing constraints, and performance requirements.
- Perform static, nonlinear, thermal, dynamic, and fatigue analysis under operational, thermal, and pressure loading environments.
- Review and interpret CAD models, engineering drawings, material specifications, and technical documentation to establish structural and performance requirements.
- Support and involve in Manufacturing and Testing activities of composite structures.
- Generate detailed engineering reports, analysis summaries, technical documentation, and presentations to communicate simulation results, design recommendations, and structural justifications.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including manufacturing and suppliers, to ensure producibility and cost-effective designs and to transition concepts into program applications.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelors or Masters degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline with a minimum of 2 years of relevant industry experience.
- Strong understanding and Hands-on experience in composite laminate sizing, stacking sequence development, ply optimisation, and structural sizing based on application-specific loading and performance requirements.
- Experience in evaluating composite failure using established failure criteria such as Tsai-Wu, Hashin, Maximum Stress/Strain, Puck, or similar composite damage models.
- Experience in stress analysis and structural substantiation of composite components subjected to static, dynamic, thermal, fatigue, and pressure loading conditions.
- Proficiency in finite element analysis (FEA) tools.
- Familiarity with user material subroutine development such as UMAT/VUMAT or related material modeling approaches for advanced composite simulations is desirable.
- Experience in mechanical design and development.
Preferred Qualifications
- Practical experience with composites across multiple domains: Design, Materials and Processes (M&P), Manufacturing methods (prepreg, infusion, RTM, etc.)
- Experience in independently executing scoped technical efforts or leading small projects.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-based environment and Excellent teamwork skills.
- Can Start Immediately.
