Category Manager IT Software

Do you value partnership? Are you solid as a rock when juggling multiple projects? Do you ask insightful questions and enjoy problem solving? We’re looking for a highly motivated and skilled Category & Sourcing Specialist to join our Category & Sourcing team for Software.
The Software Category & Sourcing team is responsible for the Software category procurement delivery UBS. The Software Category and Sourcing Specialist are critical players in supporting the development and execution of a category management strategy that align with the innovation, AI adoption and efficiency objectives of Group Technology and UBS overall. A Category & Sourcing Specialist for Software is also responsible for analyzing and supporting the oversight of the significant portfolio of Software deals for UBS globally, with the objective to drive innovation, value and optimize costs.
We are looking for someone like you to:
• support and project- manage the delivery of Software Category objectives across all of the Category Scorecard dimensions
• contribute to the development of the IT Software Category Strategy by providing high quality analysis, insights and ideas
• review and assess technology deals to ensure they comply with the Category Playbook, technology strategy, financial goals and policy requirements
• curate and manage Category playbooks that set standards for elements of complex deals such as: RFx structure, Base Case, Business Case, Commercialization Model, Solution / Proposal Evaluation, Transition, Transformation, & Termination Planning, Deal structuring and Execution
• act as a trusted advisor for all internal business partners, with a strong emphasis on concise and accurate communication, both written and verbal
• prepare reports on category insights and provide recommendations to the Category Head and/or senior management

Your team

You will be working in the IT Category & Sourcing team directly reporting to the Head of IT Software Category & Sourcing. The team is part of the Supply Chain organization, a function in Group Real Estate and Supply Chain (GRESC). Supply Chain was created to enhance value identification and delivery within GRESC, supporting UBS with its third party vendor management as well as with its Real Estate and Outsourcing footprint.

Your expertise

• ideally +3 years of relevant experience as a Sourcing or Category specialist in a similar role
• prior experience managing vendors or contracts in a technology organization is highly desirable
• preferably you have an understanding of software licensing, deal negotiations, contracts and commercial models
• substantive experience with performing analysis of large volumes of financial data in MS Excel and Power BI
• experience managing relationships with or supporting technology stakeholders
• a keen eye for detail with structured, organized, methodical planning skills
• eager to learn, with a keen interest in technology, an enthusiastic problem solver and and a focus on executing tasks
• experience configuring collaboration apps in MSTeam is highly desirable
• collaboration skills and the ability to work effectively with staff from a diverse mix of backgrounds, geographies and cultures
