Position Overview

Role: Automation Test Engineer AIEnabled Test Automation

The Automation Test Engineer will design, build and maintain a highquality, scalable testautomation framework (UI, API, integration) using Selenium with Java or Python. In addition to establishing a robust automation foundation, the role will drive AIpowered testing initiatives that accelerate release cycles and boost productivity across our capitalmarkets and banking applications. This is a seniorlevel position (7 + years of automation experience) that serves as the technical authority for automation strategy, DevOps integration and AI adoption.

Job Responsibilities

Framework Architecture & Design

• Design, develop and evolve a modular, maintainable automation framework (PageObject, Factory, BDD, etc.).
• Choose and standardize tooling (Selenium, Java/Python) that fits the application landscape.
• Create a testdata strategy for independent, reliable test runs.
• Define repository layout and branching conventions in GitHub/Bitbucket to enable multiteam collaboration.

DevOps & CI/CD Integration

• Embed automated suites into CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps) to enforce gated checkins.
• Architect parallel execution of tests on cloudbased agents (AWS/Azure/GCP).
• Build realtime reporting dashboards (Allure, Grafana, etc.) that expose quality metrics to stakeholders.

Functional / Regression Testing

• Author and maintain core regression, sanity and smoke test cases for web, mobile and API layers.
• Produce test plans, coverage matrices and riskbased testprioritization.
• Log defects with clear steps, severity and rootcause analysis; lead triage with developers, product owners and compliance teams.
• Use testmanagement tools (JIRA/ALM/TFS) for traceability.

Technical Leadership

• Govern automation code quality through rigorous peerreviews and codingstandard enforcement.
• Mentor junior QA engineers; run knowledgesharing sessions and champion best practices.
• Partner with development architects to embed testability (unique test IDs, API hooks).
• Deliver regular KPI dashboards (coverage, defect leakage, automation ROI).

AI Initiatives

• Implement AIdriven selfhealing locators and errorrecovery mechanisms to reduce script breakage.
• Evaluate and rollout AI coding assistants (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Tabnine) to speed script authoring and refactoring.
• Explore AIgenerated functional test cases from user stories/JIRA tickets and viceversa.

Contributing Responsibilities

• Propose riskbased testing strategies, coverage roadmaps and lightweight automation (Cypress, Playwright, Postman).
• Participate in retrospectives, suggest process improvements and help implement agreed actions.
• Collaborate across teams (development, product, risk/compliance) to align testing with business goals.
• Stay current with industry trends and bring innovative ideas to the QA community.

Required Education, Skills and Experience (MustHave)

• Education: Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related discipline (or equivalent work experience).
• Experience: Minimum 7 years of handson automation testing.
• Programming: Strong coding ability in Java or Python.
• Automation Tools: Expertlevel experience with Selenium (WebDriver, Grid).
• Framework Design: Proven track record designing modular test frameworks (PageObject, BDD, etc.).
• CI/CD & Version Control: Practical experience integrating automated suites into Jenkins, GitLab CI or Azure DevOps and using Git/GitHub/Bitbucket for source control.
• Debugging & Failure Analysis: Ability to diagnose flaky tests, analyze failures and implement robust fixes.
• Functional Testing Domain Knowledge: Experience testing capitalmarkets, banking or related financial applications (preferred but not mandatory).
• Behavioral Competencies:
• Strong analytical thinking and meticulous attention to detail.
• Excellent collaboration and communication skills.
• High sense of ownership, accountability and adaptability in a fastchanging environment.

Preferred Education, Skills and Experience (NicetoHave)

• AIAssisted Testing: Handson with AIdriven tools for selfhealing locators, testcase generation, or AI coding assistants.
• Mobile & API Testing: Experience with mobile automation (Appium) and API testing frameworks (RESTAssured, Postman, Karate).
• Alternative Automation Tools: Familiarity with Playwright, Cypress, or other modern UI testing libraries.
• Containerization & Orchestration: Experience running tests in Docker containers and orchestrating with Kubernetes.
• Advanced CI/CD Practices: Use of bluegreen deployments, canary releases, or multienvironment pipelines.
• Cloud Platforms: Experience provisioning and scaling test environments on AWS, Azure or GCP.
• Domain Expertise: Deep knowledge of capitalmarkets, trading or riskmanagement workflows.
• Mentoring & Coaching: Proven ability to coach junior QA engineers and lead communityofpractice sessions.
• Certifications: ISTQB Advanced Test Automation Engineer, Certified Selenium Professional, or relevant AI/ML certifications.
