Company Description

We are a fast-moving deep-tech startup building next-generation unmanned aerial systems for defence and strategic applications. From long-endurance ISR platforms to tactical VTOL UAVs, we design and manufacture indigenous aerial systems engineered for real-world missions.

Our founders come from engineering and aerospace backgrounds and are scaling an ambitious in-house UAV development programme. We move fast, build aggressively, and solve hard problems.

Role Description

We are looking for an Aerospace Engineer passionate about aerodynamics, flight performance, and airframe engineering. This role involves owning aerodynamic analysis, CFD simulations, and contributing across the full UAV airframe development cycle from concept and digital modelling to prototyping and flight validation.

Youll work directly with founders and alongside mechanical, electronics, and systems teams to design UAV platforms that are mission-ready, manufacturable, and high-performance

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Design and optimise fixed-wing and VTOL UAV airframes for endurance, stability, payload efficiency, and mission performance
2. Perform and own CFD simulations to validate aerodynamic behaviour, drag reduction, lift performance, and flow-field stability
3. Conduct FEA and structural validation under worst-case flight loads and iterate designs for strength-to-weight optimisation
4. Select, analyse, and optimise aerofoil profiles for mission-specific requirements
5. Develop 3D airframe models in SolidWorks or equivalent CAD tools and support transition into prototype manufacturing
6. Collaborate with cross-functional teams on subsystem integration propulsion, avionics, payloads, and structural packaging
7. Support wind tunnel studies, ground testing, and flight testing; analyse performance data and feed improvements back into the design loop
8. Contribute innovative ideas on aerodynamic configurations, materials, and next-generation airframe concepts

WHAT WERE LOOKING FOR

• 1+ year of experience in aerospace, UAV, or aircraft design (internships and research projects count strongly)
• Strong understanding of aerodynamics, aircraft performance, stability and control principles
• Hands-on CFD workflow proficiency ANSYS Fluent, OpenFOAM, XFLR5, or equivalent
• Experience with FEA and structural analysis tools is highly valued
• Proficiency in SolidWorks / Fusion 360 / CATIA or equivalent for airframe modelling
• Familiarity with systems engineering and multidisciplinary subsystem integration
• Working knowledge of DGCA / ASTM / MIL standards, GD&T, and DFM principles is a plus
• OR Fresher with strong aeromodelling portfolio, competition wins (SAE Aero, DRDO Dare to Dream, SIH, national hackathons), and aircraft/UAV designs you built and flew
• Strong analytical thinking, technical problem-solving, and ownership mindset
