Job Description
Start your career in Tax Operations by helping a private bank deliver accurate, compliant tax reporting across EMEA. As a junior Analyst, you’ll learn how EU VAT and withholding tax processes work end-to-end, supporting daily operations and partnering with experienced colleagues and external advisors to ensure timely, accurate outcomes.
As an Analyst within the Tax Operations team, you will play a key role in overseeing and optimizing processes related to VAT compliance and the withholding and reporting of taxes for our private banking clients across EMEA jurisdictions. You will ensure strict adherence to EU VAT and tax regulations as they apply to financial institutions, guaranteeing that all operational aspects are executed in line with regulatory requirements. Leveraging your strong background in banking operations and analytical expertise, you will thrive in a fast-paced, technology-driven environment and contribute to the continuous improvement of our tax operations.
Job Responsibilities
- Oversee and manage daily VAT and tax operations, including withholding tax processes, ensuring full compliance with EU VAT and tax laws relevant to financial institutions.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external advisors to ensure the accurate and timely collection, withholding, and reporting of taxes.
- Monitor changes in EU tax legislation, assess their impact on the organization, and implement necessary operational adjustments.
- Provide expert guidance on VAT and tax operational processes to internal stakeholders.
- Participate in the development and implementation of technology-driven solutions to enhance tax operations efficiency.
- Support the Tax Operations Manager in strategic projects and initiatives as required.
- Develop and implement governance and control frameworks for VAT collection and payment to ensure regulatory compliance, effective risk management, and operational excellence.
Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Taxation, or a related field.
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in operations or tax operations.
- Solid knowledge of EU VAT and tax laws and regulations, particularly as they pertain to financial institutions.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively across cross-functional teams, managing multiple priorities effectively.
- Proficiency in data analytics tools and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Fluency in English and French, both written and spoken.
Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills
- Experience within a multinational corporation or financial institution
- Familiarity with technology-driven solutions and product management.
- Proficiency in German, Italian, or Spanish
