Position Summary...

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced DataStage & Cloud Pak for Data Engineer to install, configure, upgrade, and support IBM InfoSphere Information Server (DataStage 11.7) and Next Generation DataStage on Cloud Pak for Data (CPD 5.2.x / 5.3.x). The role involves end-to-end platform management, ETL operations support, and collaboration with cross-functional teams to ensure stable and efficient data integration pipelines.

About the Team

The Walmart DataStage team plays a critical role in supporting enterprise data integration, ETL processing, and data movement across key business platforms. The team is focused on maintaining a stable and reliable DataStage and NextGen environment while driving improvements in performance, scalability, and operational efficiency.

What You’ll Do  

Platform Installation & Configuration

  • Install, configure, and patch IBM InfoSphere Information Server (DataStage 11.7).

  • Install, configure, and patch Cloud Pak for Data (CPD) including Next Gen DataStage (5.2.x / 5.3.x).

  • Perform version upgrades and migrations of DataStage environments.

Platform Administration

  • Configure and manage DataStage components including:

    • Engine tier

    • Services tier

    • Metadata repositories

    • DataStage projects

  • Manage platform stability, performance tuning, and environment optimization.

Deployment & Release Management

  • Support code promotion and deployment of ETL assets across environments (DEV, QA, PROD).

  • Work with release management processes and ensure smooth pipeline transitions.

Operational Support

  • Monitor DataStage job executions and ETL pipelines.

  • Troubleshoot job failures and performance issues.

  • Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions.

  • Respond to production incidents and ensure timely resolution.

Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Collaborate with:

    • Development teams

    • Database Administrators (DBAs)

    • OS/Infrastructure teams

    • Business users and stakeholders

What You’ll bring  

Core Technical Skills

  • Strong experience with:

    • IBM DataStage 11.x administration.

    • Cloud Pak for Data (CPD) platform like Next Generation DataStage 

  • Experience in DataStage upgrades, migrations, and patching, performance tuning .

  • Database – DB2 , Oracle ,Big Query , Informix , Azure Sql .

Operating Systems

  • Strong expertise in:

    • Unix / Linux

    • Windows environments

Scripting & Automation

  • Strong hands-on experience in:

    • Shell scripting (Bash/Korn)

    • Python scripting

Scheduling Tools

  • Experience with enterprise schedulers:

    • Control-M

    • Apache Airflow

Cloud & Infrastructure

  • Experience working in multi-cloud environments (Azure, Google Cloud) On-premises infrastructure

  • Experience with OpenShift / Kubernetes / DevOps technologies

  • Exposure to CI/CD pipelines and automation frameworks

  • Knowledge of enterprise data integration

  • Familiarity with monitoring and alerting tools.

  • Familiarity with ServiceNow , and Jira ticketing systems.

  • Pager call management for support duty.

  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced production support environment

  • Team-oriented with cross-functional collaboration mindset.

Minimum Qualifications...
