Job Summary
Caterpillar’s Earthmoving Division (EMD) is hiring a Development & Research Senior Engineer with expertise in customer relations and technology solutions. In this role you will work on the exciting and technically challenging New Technology team with focus on earthmoving products. This team is responsible for developing and demonstrating new technologies in areas of connectivity, safety, productivity, remote control, semi-autonomous, and fully autonomous machine control systems. In this role you will plan and lead the Tech Panel Forums that support the development and implementation of EMD Technologies. Tech Panel Forums are comprised of dealer and customer surveys, Demos, and one on one conversations helping support and define our technology solutions strategy.
What You’ll Do (Key Responsibilities)
- Provide the technical and project management interface for product development work with management and internal clients.
- Building and executing customer/dealer surveys that shape our technology solutions.
- Conducting one-on-one interviews on a quarterly basis.
- Planning tech demos providing our customers with a first look at technology solutions to gather critical customer feedback.
- This will requiring gathering and organizing from within the Earthmoving team, organizing months in advance, planning logistic details, and execution of event.
- Document findings, summarize and communicate results clearly through written and verbal reports and stakeholder updates.
What You’ll Have (Required Skills)
- Degree Requirement: Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field.
- Analytical Thinking – ability to define problems, compare solution options, and draw sound conclusions.
- Effective Communications – ability to tailor technical information to the audience; communicate across multiple levels.
- Project Management – ability to support project planning, documentation execution, and stakeholder communication.
- Managing Multiple Priorities: Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects using effective judgement to prioritize and allocate time.

- Experience with customer and dealer interactions
- Experience of collaborating across functions to deliver results

- Work location: IL-Peoria Proving Grounds or Peoria buildings AB/AH
- Domestic relocation assistance is available for this role
- Visa sponsorship is NOT available for this role.
- Travel: Up to 5% domestic and international
- This position requires 5 days per week in the office (M-F)
Summary Pay Range:
$112,710.00 - $169,060.00Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
