Position Description:
Designs and builds large scale production distributed systems to support public facing websites. Leverages infrastructure as code, test automation, Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD), and containerization to streamline automation. Develops software system testing, validation procedures, programming, or documentation. Provides business solutions by developing complex or multiple software applications.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Develops original and creative technical solutions to on-going development efforts.
- Designs applications or subsystems on major projects and for/in multiple platforms.
- Develops applications for multiple projects supporting several divisional initiatives.
- Supports and performs all phases of testing leading to implementation.
- Assists in the planning and conducting of user acceptance testing.
- Develops comprehensive documentation for multiple applications supporting several corporate initiatives.
- Responsible for post-installation testing of any problems.
- Establishes project plans for projects of moderate scope.
- Works on complex assignments and often multiple phases of a project.
- Performs independent and complex technical and functional analysis for multiple projects supporting several initiatives.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, or a closely related field (or foreign education equivalent) and three (3) years of experience as a Senior Software Engineer/Developer (or closely related occupation) designing and developing Application Programming Interface (API) backend services, developing scalable items in distributed and Cloud environments, and implementing authentication and secure data transmission in enterprise applications.
Or, alternatively, Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, or a closely related field (or foreign education equivalent) and one (1) year of experience as a Senior Software Engineer/Developer (or closely related occupation) designing and developing Application Programming Interface (API) backend services, developing scalable items in distributed and Cloud environments, and implementing authentication and secure data transmission in enterprise applications.
Skills and Knowledge:
Candidate must also possess:
- Demonstrated Expertise (“DE”) designing, implementing, building, and supporting application and API solutions, using a Java-based tech stack (Postgres, Oracle, and DynamoDB); and integrating with vendor products, to enable electronic signature transactions in brokerage and financial services products, using a Java-based tech stack, Oracle, Postgres, and Amazon Web Services (AWS) platforms.
- DE designing, developing, and optimizing scalable multi-tier Java-based enterprise applications and RESTful API Web services, using Java, Spring Boot, and Oracle; developing integration and unit tests, using SonarQube; and conducting code reviews to ensure code is designed and developed effectively to achieve robust, reliable, and scalable application components in an Agile environment.
- DE performing AWS Cloud-based application development, design, implementation of microservices, and supporting Cloud infrastructure, using EC2, S3, Docker, Postgres, and Datadog.
- DE defining, developing, and implementing solutions for Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) following DevOps methodologies of CI/CD, using Jenkins pipelines for enterprise applications, Git, Bitbucket, Jenkins Core, SonarQube, and Docker; and migrating repositories and maintaining code integrity, using Git.
