Robotics Hardware System Architect
The Robotics Focus Applications (RFAS) Team are advertising a Robotics Applications Engineering role, located in the Wilmington Office, MA, USA. The RFAS team is responsible for expansion of ADI revenue globally in the areas of mounted robots, mobile robots, and humanoids. This role will be an integral part of the global robotics team but will also work closely with the robotics teams located in Wilmington including those in the broader RFAS Team, as well as those in the Robotics System Solutions (RSS) Team and the Edge AI Team. The responsibilities of the role will include:
Work with the RFAS and RSS broader teams to match customer problem statements to ADI solutions, and to provide technical guidance and influence.
Work with the technology groups in ADI (vision, precision, sensing, connectivity etc) to understand and position ADI technology differentiation for robotics systems.
Support the creation and optimization of system architectures for robotics solutions.
Expand ADI domain knowledge in the areas of humanoid, mobile, and outdoor robots and the trends in these areas.
Support local sales and FAEs in deep technical discussions with robotics customers in the USA
Create collateral to enable ADI Sales and Field Engineering to engage more successfully with customers on the value of ADI technology in the context of their application needs
Support technology demonstrators, customer technology days, and customer visits in collaboration with the RFAS vertical robotics teams.
Required Profile:
This role requires a technical leader who excels in collaborative environments, and in technical thought leadership, not a traditional engineering manager. Existing domain expertise and hands-on development in robotics development and deployment is necessary. The role is primarily one of thought leadership, technical expertise and influence. There may be some hands-on activity in terms of supporting demonstrators and exploring concepts etc. but this is not a central part of the role. It is also not a team management role.
TechnicalFoundation: Bachelors in Engineering (Electronics/Electrical preferred) with 7+ years of experience in a robotics domain.
Hands-on experience and background in developing and deploying robotics systems (PCB, firmware or FPGA experience a plus).
Familiarity with humanoid, mobile robotics, collaborative robots, and/or industrial vision technologies (e.g., ToF, IMU, sensor fusion).
Understanding of robotics and automation systems
Experience providing technical guidance
Good communicator with a strong ability in technical presentation and collateral generation
Leadership in Matrix Organizations
Excellence in influencing without direct authority (non-management role)
Proven success in matrix organizations where outcomes depend on collaboration
Ability to guide technical decisions through influence rather than direct control
Track record of building consensus across diverse stakeholders
Strong communication skills bridging technical and business audiences
Travel: 10% (primarily in USA)

Shift Type: 1st Shift/DaysThe expected wage range for a new hire into this position is $131,285 to $190,108.
Actual wage offered may vary depending on work location, experience, education, training, external market data, internal pay equity, or other bona fide factors.
This position qualifies for a discretionary performance-based bonus which is based on personal and company factors.
