Job Summary
To support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, we’re looking to add an Equipment Reliability Engineer located in Austin, TX LUSA.
Reporting to Manager, as part of the site engineering team, the Equipment Reliability Engineer is responsible for Equipment Reliability Engineering across a diverse manufacturing operation.
This role provides technical leadership for inputs, data structure, and reports & analysis within the Corrective Maintenance Management System (CMMS) and other systems used to calculate OEE, Downtime, Line & Machine Utilization metrics. The role will work closely across functions including Operations, Engineering, and Maintenance to champion projects to improve equipment availability & performance. Reliability analyses with recommendations to senior management are a key part of this role as part of continuous improvement. Strong organizational skills are required to successfully optimize the availability of the high-volume production lines.
What a typical day looks like:
- Coach, develop, and mentor reliability engineering staff to strengthen technical capabilities and team performance.
- Analyze equipment failure and downtime data to identify trends and drive improvements in overall equipment reliability.
- Develop and implement predictive maintenance strategies, procedures, and tools to enhance asset performance and reduce unplanned downtime.
- Perform and communicate MTBF and MTTR to support data-driven decision-making.
- Provide technical leadership in troubleshooting efforts and lead initiatives to implement effective corrective and preventive actions.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams—including engineering, operations, and maintenance—to optimize Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE).
- Manage and prioritize multiple projects, adjusting priorities as needed to align with business goals and operational demands.
- Continuously improve the utilization and effectiveness of CMMS and other downtime tracking systems, including reporting and analytics.
- Conduct Root Cause Failure Analysis and lead implementation of sustainable corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Maintain strong customer relationships through effective communication, technical support, and performance delivery.
- Serve as a role model by demonstrating leadership, accountability, and the ability to deliver results through team collaboration.
- Independently handle complex issues with minimal supervision, while escalating only the most complex issues to appropriate staff.
The experience we’re looking to add to our team:
- BS in Mechanical, Industrial or Manufacturing engineering or equivalent.
- Manufacturing maintenance experience totaling 3 to 5 years desirable.
- At least 2 years working directly with a CMMS system including configuring new assets therein.
- Knowledge of predictive and preventive maintenance tools and world class asset care.
- Proven track record of engineering and maintenance with the ability to apply engineering and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to prioritize and multi-task under continuously changing business priorities.
- Demonstrated leadership in the deployment of reliability engineering best practices within a complex manufacturing operation.
- Experience in implementing reliability initiatives in an automated manufacturing facility.
