Job Summary
Product Support Engineer
Responsibilities:
Supervision of personnel engaged in the troubleshooting, repair and maintenance of manufacturing equipment in order to attain goals consistent with quality, cost and delivery requirements.
Principle Accountabilities:
- Coordinate technical resources as needed to support a 24/7 manufacturing operation.
- Understand manufacturing and test equipment concepts, technologies and techniques.
- Define equipment maintenance requirements, identify root-causes of equipment failures and develop hands-on troubleshooting skills of team.
- Work with other engineering stakeholders and customers on problem solving.
- Support team on technical issues, request additional resources as required.
- Provide information for management decisions from a technical and technical cost perspective.
- Confers with management, engineering, and other staff regarding manufacturing capabilities, production schedules, and other considerations to facilitate production processes.
- Maintain a safety-first environment for all employees.
- Ensure team is documenting all work per procedures.
- Maintain a quality mindset with all employees.
- Develop team using structured training and assessments.
- Able to read, comprehend, and interpret complex instructions.
- Write routine reports and correspondence.
- Hiring and performance management of team
- Meet KPIs for department as required by management
Required Experience:
- Associate degree in a technical field or equivalent experience
- 3+ years related experience in a technology-based industry, where a mix of automated and manual assembly techniques is utilized.
- 3+ years management / supervisory experience
- 5+ years’ experience as a maintenance technician
- Minimum 2 years’ experience working with manufacturing of medical devices or other highly regulated products.
- Experience in supporting of high-speed assembly systems (>20ppm)
- Knowledge of automation systems and tools - robotic, vision, material handling, Conveyors, PLC, HMI, Pick-Place-Pack, Inspection/Test methods.
