Job Description
Job Summary
Responsibilities:
- Handle product transfer and new product set up.
- Support production by assessing product engineering issues of diverse scope that arise on production line.
- Suggest improvements to process to obtain improved quality and production yield.
- Solve product related problems and perform failure evaluation related to product issues.
- Interact with customer and various departments on product related issues
- Work with design team to resolve design related issues.
- Suggest modification to work instructions, material, or product changes to ensure excellent quality of products.
- Customer´s Bill of Material (BOM) evaluation and structure definition for production
- Functional Product Documentation review
- Safety Requirements and regulations compliance identification
- Engineering Drawings Interpretation of parts and assemblies.
- Request customer for drawing corrections, additions, clarification, measurements methods
- Manage Engineering Changes Implementation
- Conduct Design for Manufacturing (DFM), tolerance evaluation, Design of Experiment (DOE), form-fit-function to define failure root/cause evaluation and reporting to customer
- Provide support to supply chain to integrate parts derived from the vertical integration or localization effort
- Provide product training to the manufacturing/process engineers for better understanding of the product.
- Request, handle and administrate golden samples, engineering samples of final product and/or piece parts
- Establish, operate, and maintain a standard method for technical information interchange with the customer to control and preserve information of NPI transferred projects
- Inspection of customer product parts and assemblies through model files using Computer-aided Design (CAD) system
- Evaluate and identify course of action of Product Change Notification (PCN) and Manufacturing Change Order (MCO)
- Ability to take additional responsibilities of the Manufacturing Engineer depending on the size and complexity of the customer product
Job Requirements:
Education: Typically requires a Bachelor of Science Degree in related field or equivalent experience
Work Experience:
- Typically requires 4 years of experience.
- Ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts such as exponents, logarithms, quadratic equations and permutations. Ability to apply mathematical operations to such tasks as frequency distribution, determination of test reliability and validity, analysis of variance, correlation techniques, sampling theory and factor analysis.
- Ability to analize problems, design experiments, conduct a design for manufacturing analysis, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form, and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
- Knowledge on metrology measurement methods, engineering drawing interpretations, Parts and assemblies analysis using CAD system
- Demonstrates advanced functional and technical skills and basic process skills. Demonstrates advanced/ thorough knowledge of the function and Flex business. Typically requires skill and troubleshooting, and diagnostics, and overview of the entire test process and the ability to train others.
- Ability to analyze and interpret common scientific and technical journals.
