Job Description

This role involves smoothing and refining the surfaces of painted bike frames using sandpaper, polishing compound, and a buffing tool. The P1 buffer is responsible for inspecting each frame, identifying minor surface defects, and removing them to ensure every bike meets Trek’s high-quality standards. 

What you’ll experience on the job: 

  • Sand and polish surface defects from bike frames 
  • Inspect frames for defects using Trek’s cosmetic guidelines 
  • Log and escalate quality concerns to leadership 
  • Maintain a safe and clean work environment by keeping shelves, pallet area, and workstations neat and complying with procedures, rules, and regulations 
  • Contribute to team efforts by accomplishing related tasks as needed 

What you’ll bring to the team: 

  • Ability to operate basic tools such as a buffer or sander 
  • Ability to identify and escalate quality issues 
  • Ability to lift, carry, or pull medium weights, up to 50 lbs 
  • Ability to do repetitious work 
  • Initiation of continuous improvement opportunities
