About the Role
We are seeking a data-driven and collaborative DTC eCommerce Platform Lead to join the Global Direct-to-Consumer (DTC) team for the Sound United business unit within Harman’s Lifestyle division In this role, you will oversee the stability, scalability, and day‑to‑day operations of our global Salesforce Commerce Cloud (SFCC) landscape. This includes managing complex system integrations, leading technical troubleshooting, and partnering with engineering teams to ensure our eCommerce ecosystem performs reliably and evolves with the business. A strong developer background is essential for understanding system architecture, validating code quality, and guiding technical decisions across the stack.
What You Will Do
- Lead daily technical operations, monitoring, and optimization of the eCommerce tech stack (SFCC, Aftership, Yotpo, Klaviyo, Drive Commerce, Wistia, etc.), including evaluating and integrating AI‑driven tools that improve uptime, detection, personalization, and performance.
- Manage and maintain integrations into SFCC from OMS, ERP, CRM, and marketplace channels, acting as the primary technical escalation point for engineering partners while overseeing safe and effective use of AI‑powered automation and data enrichment.
- Improve platform reliability by identifying technical gaps, resolving root‑cause issues, and implementing scalable solutions using AI‑assisted insights, anomaly detection, and predictive monitoring.
- Own the technical work lifecycle—scoping requirements, prioritizing backlogs, and validating development output—ensuring AI‑driven features meet quality, transparency, and ROI expectations.
- Evaluate, architect, and document new tools and integration patterns while clearly communicating technical constraints, risks, opportunities, and AI‑related considerations to non‑technical stakeholders.
What You Need to Be Successful
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or equivalent experience demonstrating strong technical, analytical, and system‑design capability, ideally with exposure to modern AI concepts and model‑driven workflows.
- Minimum of 5 years operating enterprise eCommerce platforms (ideally SFCC) with deep understanding of platform operations, integrations, data flows, and downstream systems, plus hands‑on experience with AI‑driven commerce capabilities.
- 5+ years of technical product leadership, including requirements gathering, writing user stories, managing backlogs, and verifying engineering output, with the ability to evaluate AI‑enabled initiatives for feasibility and value.
- Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills across front‑end, backend, APIs, and middleware layers, including experience applying AI‑assisted debugging and monitoring tools.
- Experience improving performance and reliability through monitoring, alerting, logging, release management, and coordination with QA and UX teams—ideally with AI‑enhanced observability tools.
Bonus Points if You Have
- MBA or Master’s in a related field.
- Experience working within a multi‑brand portfolio.
- SQL or similar query‑language skills, including preparing datasets for AI‑driven analysis.
- Experience with A/B testing platforms (Optimizely, Varify), especially those with AI‑powered experimentation or personalization capabilities.
What Makes You Eligible
- Willingness to travel 5% domestically.
- Be open to working in the Carlsbad, CA office (hybrid option available; flexibility to come into the office on short notice when needed is appreciated).
- Due to the nature of global infrastructure, you understand that flexibility in working hours is required.
- Successfully complete a background investigation and drug screen as a condition of employment (post-offer)
