Job Summary
To support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, we’re looking to add a Automation engineer located in Austin, TX.
Reporting to the Sr Director, Operations Engineering the Automation engineer is responsible for specifying, designing and maintaining automation equipment, tooling and applications as required to meet specifications.
What a typical day looks like:
- Develop and maintain a best-practice automation catalog covering architectures, equipment standards, controls, integration patterns, and deployment guidelines across all CEC sites.
- Establish and run a cross-site automation forum to enable knowledge sharing, lessons learned, and reuse of proven solutions.
- Drive collaboration and technical alignment among CEC sites.
- Contribute to planning, building, and maintaining the enterprise automation framework.
- Support sites on identification of automation opportunities.
- Provide direct automation support to sites when needed.
- Identify and drive automation improvements in existing processes.
- Provide support for new customer engagements requiring automation solutions.
- Develop fully costed automation solutions for new business proposals.
- Provide end-to-end automation engineering support from SOW to ramp stage
- Ensure automation requirements are delivered on time and on budget.
The experience we’re looking to add to our team:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related discipline.
- 5+ years delivering industrial or manufacturing automation solutions.
- Experience developing capex-backed automation solutions with ROI justification.
- Strong understanding of automation architectures and system integration.
- Multi-site or global manufacturing experience.
- New business capture or proposal engineering experience.
- Familiarity with automation maturity metrics and scorecards.
