Boeing Aerospace OperationsBoeing Global Services (BGS) is looking for an Associate Welding Fabrication Specialist to join our SAMC back shop team in San Antonio, TX.
Position Responsibilities:
- Plan the sequence of welding operations working from assembly outlines, process specifications, welding procedure, x-ray film and written or verbal instructions
- Set up and operate gas, manual, GTAW, GMAW, welding equipment
- Adjust speed of travel, amperage and distance from torch to metal during welding
- Perform certified welding on company products where a high degree of mental concentration, sensory alertness, manual coordination and unusually difficult working positions are required for long periods
- Ability to meet customer, engineering, and NDT (e.g. X-ray, dye penetrant and ultrasonic) specifications beyond those normally required of journeyman welders
- May also perform production welding normally associated with lower rated classifications
- Ability to pass an eye exam
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
- 3+ years of TIG (Tungsten Inert Gas) welding experience with aluminum, Inconel, stainless steel and titanium
- Experience reading blueprints and structural drawings
- Experience using basic math (addition, subtraction, multiplication and division)
- Ability to work variable shifts (i.e. scheduled and unscheduled overtime; weekends and holidays) to support mission requirements and workload
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
- Ability to read TIG welding blueprints and specifications
- Able to use a 2-person lift for weights greater than 50lbs

Summary Starting Pay Rate: $73,300 / $35.24 per hour
Additive Pay: $1.00/hour Airframe Certification
$1.00/hour Powerplant Certification
