PAYROLL SPECIALIST - AMER/AMERICAS

AS A PAYROLL SPECIALIST AT SNOWFLAKE, YOU WILL:

• Assist with processing US payroll runs on a bi-weekly frequency for 4,000+ (and growing) employees accurately and in a timely manner.
• Support the AMER payroll team in payrolls such as Canada, Mexico, Brazil, Costa Rica, Columbia etc 
• Process ad-hoc payments (e.g. final paychecks, severance payments, etc.).
• Responsible for tracking and processing payments for employees on leave of absence
• Review and resolve data transactions between Workday HCM and ADP Workforce Now. Perform data reconciliation/audits to ensure data integrity across multiple systems (e.g. HCM, payroll)
• Responsible for ensuring new hires are properly set up in ADP Workforce Now and all new hire onboarding tasks are completed
• Providing excellent payroll support to all employees and cross-functional teams by addressing inquiries, concerns, and requests.
• Handle incoming payroll-related mail correspondences (e.g. tax notices)
• Maintain high level of custom service and timely response to payroll-related inquiries
• Assist in year-end payroll activities.
• Support the US Payroll team with special projects as needed
• Maintain confidentiality of payroll information
• Working closely with other functional teams to ensure that processes and roles are aligned to support the rapid growth of the Company.
• Recognizing opportunities and recommending scalable processes to enhance payroll operational efficiency while maintaining accuracy.
• Assisting with payroll compliance matters such as external audits, statutory local audits, tax withholding, and year-end reporting.
• Providing standard and ad-hoc payroll reports as needed by various internal departments such as Finance, Accounting, Legal, Benefits, and People Operations.
• Creating and/or maintaining payroll documentation as it relates to processing, operational procedures, compliance, and other payroll-related matters.
• Providing support in various system implementation projects as needed.

WHO YOU ARE:

• Bachelor’s / Master’s degree in Business, Finance, or Accounting;
• 3-6 years of relevant and progressive payroll experience; public company payroll experience preferred
• Experience reporting employee Equity Compensations through payroll. 
• Required to work shifts to overlap with US time zones
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively with team members and other stakeholders
• Experience with ADP WorkforceNow, Canada preferred but not required; Workday HCM experience a plus
• Experience in working with or managing third-party payroll service firms
• Strong communication, proactive, analytical, and problem-solving skills
• Highly proficient in utilizing various computer applications such as Microsoft Excel and Google Suite apps (e.g. Google Sheets)
• Basic understanding of accounting, taxation, and finance concepts as it relates to payroll
• Adaptable to a fast-changing work environment; able to deliver accurate and on-time payroll regardless of the circumstances.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team environment.
